The Lord wants our time. He wants us to spend time alone with Him. If we can tithe 10% of our earnings to Him, than why can't we tithe 10% of our time? I like to get up before sunrise and hold my hot java (sugar free vanilla creamer, 2 sweet n lows and french roasted dark coffee...heaven in a mug!) in my hand and light one of my candles and sit alone with God with nothing but the lit wick flickering near me. It is so beautiful. I never want to sleep in and miss that quiet alone time with God in the dark. Something profound happens when I worship and talk with God alone in the stillness of the darkness. Just pureness and oneness. It is so natural and organic and I like to praise and thank and talk just with Him. When I learned that we should try to spend 2 hours and 22 minutes a day with God....praying, worshiping, talking, studying, reading or watching a sermon....in some capacity, I felt like it was confirmation. I used to talk with God on my way to work, which was a good 50 minute drive each way so it can be done anywhere, anytime. I would not even put on the radio some days and just talk things through with Him. It really is important for us and He will always bless us. I mean we will curl up and watch a movie that long, exercise each day, eat a leisurely meal that long....so we can do this too. So I encourage you to do this with me.....just as He has blessed us with our tithes, let's see what He can do with our time if we give it back to Him. Amen?!
