We will all face many difficult times in our lives. I would like to meet any adult that can attest to me that they have led a perfect and joyous life all of their days up until now. It just is not a factual statement. Not for anyone. I know as a believer we are to draw from our faith and strength and draw near to God more than anyone else during these trying times. But it isn't only then that we are to be close to God. He is not our Mr. Fix it and Forget It. Try that relationship with Him and see how long that lasts. He needs to be a consistent presence in our lives . When daily prayer and devotions are a part of you and your life and scripture becomes familiar, it will arm you during your trials. You can use what you have learned and apply it. The bible is the most consistent book there is and it is our instructional guide from the Lord so He wants us to use His words, meditate on them and apply them. Don't fight the process. Trials will come whether you want them to or not. Imagine when you draw onto God through your trials, He takes those breaths and sighs with you. We have to allow God to use our challenges in our lives to be an opportunity to draw on His strength and help us through the fire that will refine us. That is the definition of "sanctification". So I challenge you today to be prepared for your next valley and look at it as a promise not a problem.
1 Samuel 30:6
