When we come to the Lord we are to love the Giver, not the gift. Where did anyone get the impression that finding God means easy street,100% answered prayers, and lots of goodies along the way? I am very close with someone who has stopped going to church because she never found a man nor got married and had children. She declared to me that God doesn't answer her prayers therefore she doesn't bother to pray anymore. I have heard another say that someone they were close to had so much faith God would save their apartment and he ended up homeless and living on some one's sofa. Therefore they posed the question to me where did his faith get him? Although I sympathize with these stories I also quickly am going to defend God for man makes mistakes and gets in to their own way. When your heart is right with God and you are right with God, He will provide. The girl never got her heart's desire because she wanted a man, not a relationship with God. She turned to God for a man and when He didn't provide, she dropped Him. If she had taken the time to deepen her faith she would have realized that the Lord is a jealous and loving God and although He wants to grant us our heart's desires, He would never give us something or someone that would ultimately take His place. So it appeared as though He never answered Her prayer but in reality He would have had her heart been right. As for the man who lost his home, was he tithing seeds into the kingdom of glory? Tithing will seal you up and save you every time. I believe God showed mercy and he found someone to take him in but to not have been further blessed may have been his own reaping and sowing or lack thereof. Understand I am not here to judge these people, I am simply posing the question as to why the Lord gets the bad rap when man is the one that gets in the way. So next time you are feeling frustrated by something you are asking of God, make sure your heart is right, your relationship with Him is right and the thing you want falls within His will of things. For Psalm 37:45 tells me that when we delight ourselves in Him, He will grant our heart's desires. And that is all I need to know. Have a blessed day!
