God only helps those that help themselves. You all have heard that expression right? People say it with such assurance as if it is biblical doctrine but I challenge you to tell me where exactly this is written in the bible. While there is a delicate balance between our efforts and our trust in God, there are many times when we seek His counsel and we are told to be still and do nothing. Our "waiting" on Him is how we demonstrate our faith. To an outsider it may appear as though we are doing nothing to help our situation, but the truth is we are doing MORE than acting. There are other times when we seek His guidance as we plan and the Lord instructs as to ACT on our plan AS we trust in Him. To summarize it clearly is to say that our faith leads to God's action as our "works" are evidence of our faith. There is to always be a partnership between our efforts and God's control. He wants us to use our minds but He always wants us to seek His guidance. And remember the final outcome of our plans will always be in His hands. So the next time someone debates this subject with you, be armed and be ready to share the gospel in Truth.
Today marks one year I have been writing Purpose Full Ingredients. What started out as a way of getting out my thoughts has now become a "daily bread" for many and I am honored to be used in any small way. So thanks to you all who read this and email me and tell me your testimonies. The power of God is amazing!
