I believe one of most detrimental things we can do to ourselves is envy, compare or covet someone else's life. I believe that when we envy someone else, we are saddening the Lord because He gave us the very life we have and we are living what He had in store for us. I never look at my neighbors and wish I had their life or home because no one knows what goes on behind closed doors. I was unhappy for years and yet someone could have simply looked at my home and pool and thought, "wow I wish I had her life." I learned many moons ago never to look upon someone else with envy because not all that glitters is gold. Just remember God made you unique and exactly as He wanted you to be. He gives us all different gifts so we can bless others as He has blessed us through some one's gift. We are not all going to experience the same in life such as financial wealth, beauty, parenthood, talents, so don't get caught up in that mindset. I truly believe that God is most pleased when we lift each other up, share what we have been blessed with and encourage one another. Be grateful for all you have been given and share your love, joy and your peace. Help each other rebuild instead of competing or comparing. And you should know that God will vindicate anyone that gloats at your fall or your failures. So He is your lifeline and He will always be your biggest fan so let go of any insecurities you may have or any bitterness/resentment you may feel at what you think you missed out on and allow the Holy Spirit to guide you and bless you in more ways than you could ever imagine. So let go and let God. Have a blessed day!
