The key to a healthy orderly life is balance. Balance in your personal, spiritual and mental state is vital. We must tip the scales equally in different areas in order to be able to enjoy them all and in order to be effective in all. You will experience burn out even with the best intentions. When people are so grateful to the Lord, they want to give back in every way and they begin to serve in various church ministries and before you know it, they committed themselves 7 days a week. I love my pastoral staff because one of them actually advised someone close to me to be careful of it because they were so willing to help wherever they could. I respected the pastor so much for freeing the person from overload. He could have taken advantage for his own gain but instead helped them to see it was okay to rest. We sometimes feel as Christians that we must always be available and never say no. That attitude pleases the Lord therefore we will be honored with his favor and He will help us with established order. He will not allow man to take advantage or manipulate you because you are so giving of a spirit. I think that is so wonderful to know that you can let go and let God and not have to try to figure it all out. I love not having to analyze one's motive or intention but instead I rest knowing that my God knows man's hearts and He will guide me through my walk so it is filled with joy, peace, love, contentment, rest and balance. Ask the Lord to help you today if you struggle with saying no. He will help you and "clean house" for you if you are unable. Ask Him to bring to you who needs you and ask Him to protect you from what is not of Him. He can and He will. Just let Him. Have a blessed weekend.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
Special Note:
Today my husband and I celebrate two lives that were taking away on this day. Our blessed Mother, Ro, who passed away so young in 1999 and to our dear friend, Carole who passed away in 2004. We know heaven is having a heck of a party today and we want them to know we join them in spirit.
