There's all those old sayings we have heard over the years.."you get what you give"..."no pain, no gain"...well the same can be said for our spiritual walk and maturity. Your relationship with God will either grow and blossom with consistent prayer and time spent with Him or it won't. We are to live for Him and center our universe around Him and when we do that, He moves in our lives. We must be proactive in our faith and education of Him. Neutral ground, closed mouths, playing things safe do not cut it with God. Do you stand up for God at work if someone is taking His name in vain or do you stay quiet out of fear? Do you tell your fellow brother or sister that their behavior is not pleasing to God and get involved or do you stay mum because it is not your business and you don't need trouble? Life with God is complicated, it is complex, it is not for the faint of heart and it is not easy. We are to be on a higher standard of most. We will face opposition most of our days for we do not belong in this world. It is a mentally and physically taxing life. But there is good news and there is hope. God loves you. God will sustain you. God will reward you. He did not sacrifice His only Son so that we would live a joyless and mindless existence. The cross symbolizes the profound love a Father has for His children, His offspring, His kin. We are His children and we are called to do His work here on Earth until we are called home to be with Him. We are not to remain in one place for too long. We are to be spreading His name and sharing His story with the world. We are to be the same in church as we are in work. There should be no one that does not know your belief in Jesus Christ. Meek, mild, shy and awkwardness are not justifiable excuses for standing on the side lines. The work is preaching the gospel of the Lord, for faith comes by hearing the Word of God. And we should be living examples and let our lives glorify God by leading people to Christ.
