In today's world the best advice I could give anyone is to keep their eyes on God! Never in my life have I seen such destruction, depression and deprived individuals. All it takes are five minutes of nightly news to put your own mind in a tailspin, if you allow it. Keep your mind on the One who came to save not destroy. Our future is bright with Jesus but you would never know it if you heard the media and their predicting outlook for our future. My husband and I have made it a household rule where we do not usher in any of the world's garbage into our home and that is via people, television or any other social way. It is quite easy when you set your mind to it and we are more at peace for it. Of course the secular world tells us to remove our rose colored glasses and to come back into reality. Why? Because we have unshakable faith for our future despite what you say? Because we believe our Lord has us in the palm of His Hand and we believe His word that tells us the righteous shall not fall? Because we choose not to fall into your trap of commercial and economic slavery by buying every last technology toy you invent? Why does the world want me to follow them when I know the true way to the truth and the light? Why are believers deemed "radicals" when the socialists are deemed" realists"? There is more to the story of Peter walking on the water and not drowning by keeping His eyes on God and not his surroundings of deep ocean water . It is was a story told for us today to let us too know that we are to keep our eyes on the Lord for He will lead us to green pastures and not allow us to be put to shame. He is my future, He is my hope and He is who I put all my trust in. Why won't you?
Matthew 14:22-33
New International Version (NIV)
Jesus Walks on the Water
22 Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowd. 23 After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. Later that night, he was there alone, 24 and the boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it.
25 Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. 26 When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear.
27 But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”
28 “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”
29 “Come,” he said.
Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”
31 Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”
32 And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down. 33 Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.”
