God does not want us to only reach out to Him in an emergency. We are always in trouble without God but so many of us run to Him when things are going wrong. I knew someone that tried to "make a deal" with God when he was lying in the hospital sick and scared to death. The Lord did heal him and years later this person forgot all about the Lord and fell back in to his sinful ways and sinful lifestyle. He only used God for convenience. I recall another conversation I had with a woman who was mad at God because He never sent her a man. She said "the bible said all people should be married therefore God is a liar". Naturally my defensive side came out and I quickly corrected her that no where in the bible does it say we are all going to get married-was Jesus ever married? The point is she turned to God for a need and turned away when her needs were not met. Jesus is the answer, not an answer. The Lord wants us to submit our entire being to Him. I talk to God everywhere I am, everywhere I go. I thank Him for a surprise sale at the store, a close parking spot, a peaceful day, a good meal....I acknowledge Him in all things. He wants you to do the same.....he is the way, the truth and the life and He is all you will ever need.
