We always need to pray first and then make plans instead of making plans and praying for God to make them work.  Listen for God's plan; follow it, and you will always succeed.- Joyce Meyer

I read this and thought about the saying..."we plan and God laughs".  The truth is we must stop placing the cart before the horse. We do things backwards whether it be lack of patience or because we are so about instant gratification yet our Lord's timing is no where near like ours. I read today how Abraham waited for years before he was given an heir. It was not about what he wanted but what God desired for him and at the appointed time. I believe there are many times God clearly shows us what to do but we don't do it because we don't like His plan. Our fleshy desires can hinder our acceptance of God's truth. For an example...How many people do you know that are unevenly yoked or are living in sin? They justify it and try to mold it into God's plan yet no matter how you dice and slice it, it is not part of God's will. I have done that in my own life and then watched how God slowly tore down the wall of life choices I made and rebuilt them His way. The sad reality is I wasted years of God's blessings on my own life out of pure selfishness and spiritual ignorance. Today I meditate on Proverbs 19:21 that tells me "Many plans are in man's mind, but it is the Lord's purpose for him that will stand."  And it is what I believe, practice and rely upon. And the good news is with our Lord there is confession and thanksgiving and forgiveness and we can all celebrate in that. Have a blessed weekend.
