If you have no peace you have no power over the enemy. So many times the enemy tries to set us up to steal our peace and in doing that, we relinquish our power over the evil one. In order for us to enjoy the fruits of the Spirit, we must operate and act out of love. Everyday my husband prays this prayer:
"Lord, allow my attitude to reflect Your goodness. Allow my motive to be pure in heart and allow my intention to be right and just. And allow all my responses to bring You glory. Give me a single mindedness for You; allow your Spirit to refresh my spirit; give me a fervor in heart to have a steadfastness for Your will to be done in my life".
This prayer really helped him and I have seen his life transform and it is filled with such peace and joy and love. The biggest difference in his life has been the consistency of prayer and watching him set his mind in order for the Holy Spirit to fill him up to over flow. When we do this, we are at peace and we leave no room for the enemy to take a foot hold. And this is how we guard our hearts, our minds, our homes and our loved ones.
John 16:33
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
