Prayer is essential to anyone who wants a close relationship with God. That open and honest conversation that sometimes can only take place between you and Him. Other times prayer should be shared with someone you are close with. Someone you tell your desires to so they can pray for and with you. "Prayer partners". Others have "accountability partners". I know that has been key in my marriage. We lift each other up when one is down and we encourage one another everyday. But more than anything I know my spouse is praying for me, everyday at all times. Prayer should be specific. I have always lacked inspiration when someone prays this long although beautiful prayer, when it lacks any substance. I come to my Lord each and every with thanksgiving and gratitude for I know my life is His gift and His will for me. I know I am exactly where He wants me to be for I surrendered my entire body, soul and mind to Him and committed my life and all my decisions to Him. Therefore His will shall be done in my life. Because of that assurance, I have enormous peace that transcends into joy and content which leads to pure gratitude. Therefore I cannot contain myself when I go before the Lord with anything I request. I thank Him in advance for answering my prayer. I pray with fervor, expectancy and humbleness. He is worthy of all righteousness and for Him to allow me to go before Him with all I ask, it is humbling to say the least. So how is your prayer life? Do you make sure you pray each and every day? Do you carve out a time everyday for your alone time of devotions and worship and prayer? Do you pray for others as much as you pray for yourself? More importantly are your prayers of quality and pure intent or "canned" and "forced"? I can tell you this....there is no greater privilege than the open door policy God has with us. To allow us to enter into His presence anytime we want or need to without any hesitation or reservation on His part. God may delay in answering us sometimes for our own good and as we grow in spirit we learn to know this and trust Him still no matter what. Prayer is key to Faith. Faith is key to Trust and Trust is key to your Daily Walk with Jesus. So my prayer today is for those reading this and not really praying as one should. May their eyes see and may their ears hear the voice of the Lord and His desire to draw closer to them. May they draw close to You today Lord and may they come to you with praise, thanks and love. And it is in His name, I pray all things. Amen.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. Philippians 4:6
