2 Samuel 7:28 "O Sovereign LORD, you are God! Your words are trustworthy, and you have promised these good things to your servant."
Psalm 9:10 "Those who know your name will trust in you, for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you".
We can not control the way God answers our prayers nor do we have any say in the time it takes. But what we can control is our response to the trial, the waiting, and the temptations to give up. The Lord allows things to happen to strengthen us and also to test us. He wants to see the ways of our heart and the intent of it. There is a reason behind every thing He does and in the time frame He does it. Sometimes I illustrate Him as having His arms up keeping things away from us and instructing us to get things done in order to be prepared for His upcoming miracle. Sometimes that wonderful job opportunity you have been waiting for is about to take place but He wants to make sure you are ready financially for it may be less than what you are used to making. Sometimes He will ask you to take the less than perfect job in order to bless you and lead you to the perfect job. He allows much more to happen than you give Him credit for and He protects us from many things that we do not give Him credit for. Waiting sanctifies us, which means to strengthen us in His image. He will break down every barrier you created and smash through any wall you built in order to rebuild your foundation. My husband and I knew our last seven year cycle was of "our will" and that He was going to allow it to come to its completion and bring he and I to the end of ourselves. We also claimed and knew that the number eight means "new beginning" and that our life now would be all of His will and not our own. We have withstood trial upon trial, heart ache upon heart ache but our faith in our Lord got us through. We became one in flesh and we became one in faith. We stood strong together and our life changed as a result. Most things are so private but trust me when I tell you there is a God and miracles do happen when you believe. For He is who He says He is and His promises are true. So if you are in the midst of a trial and are waiting upon the Lord, just rest. Study His word to keep strong, praise Him everyday. Pray for supernatural peace and strength and accept that nothing will happen that He does not allow. If He calls you to a place, do not be afraid but trust. If He asks you to lay something down, know that it is so you can pick up something even greater. We have a responsibility in our life. When we give it to God, we are to pray and seek His will in all things and then exercise our faith in order to move Him. Nothing comes easy and no life will be smooth and perfect. But with God at the helm, what possibility could happen? And when He is for you, who on earth could be against you? So trust God. Keep the Faith and never give up. I promise you He is worth the wait.
