The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want. Psalm 23
This verse speaks to me when I find myself in that peaceful place with the Lord where I know in my heart He has everything under control and that everything will work out for our good. We gave up the right to control our own life when we gave it to the Lord. We are to desire nothing more than His will for our lives. We are to love Him more than anyone or anything on this earth. We are to be ready, willing and able to lay down whatever it is He asks of us and follow Him. We are to preach the gospel and spread His name to all the lost. We are to love others, pray for our enemies and give of ourselves. We are to be in His image and desire what He desires. It is no longer about what we want. Now of course the Lord doesn't oppose on our will, if He did it wouldn't be free so true faith keeps us wanting nothing more than Him. My prayer today for all of His children is that we all find our gratitude in Him and our satisfaction in Him. That we need nothing more than knowing He is our Lord and Savior and we can rest in that.
