Thursday, February 28, 2013 "There is Power in God"

For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.   2 Timothy 1:7

There is power in the words of God.  Our obedience unlocks God's power.  There is power in the Blood of the Lamb.  There is power in prayer.  We will never know the power we have in our lives until we truly grasp and understand the love God has for us.  The grace of His mercy and forgiveness.  We are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.  In the New Covenant, righteousness is a gift (Rom 5:17, Eph 2:8).  It is not something that we can earn.  It is called the righteousness of God because Jesus kept the law and gave us His righteousness (Rom 10:3, Phil 3:9).  It is given by grace and received by faith.  Few Christians understand that righteousness is a gift from God.  Many Christians are still trying to obtain righteousness through their own performance.  Their sense of acceptance by God is based on their effort, but they always feel that they don’t measure up.  They feel spiritually dry, burnt-out, guilty with condemnation, etc.  But this is not how God sees you and I.   He sees us in Christ – and we are the righteousness of God in Christ.  Once we truly believe how our Father sees us, and once we start seeing ourselves in the same way, everything will change. I know the love He has for me and I want you to understand it too.  It will energize your faith.  And you will walk in the power of His Spirit, you will have new desires from God, and you will experience empowerment from Him.  Doesn't that sound like an amazing life?  It is yours to have by simply believing in God's love and His power.  My prayer is that these words meditate into your mind, heart and soul and that you begin your new deeper life with Him today, right now.  And it is His name, I pray these things.  Amen.

Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours. Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and you are exalted as head above all. 1 Chronicles 29:11
