"Do unto other as they have done to you". "Give to receive".
"This for that". "An eye for an eye".
..... all words of man ..... but these are the words of GOD ........
21 Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?”
22 Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.[a] Matthew 18:21-22
Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," says the Lord.
Romans 12:19
We have all been at the point of boiling mad where we just wanted to take matters into our own hands. I remember vividly driving home from would be my last day of employment, and right before I made my last turn to my house the Lord spoke to me and said, "vengeance is mine" and I simply replied, "okay". I never looked back and I never knew why He said what He said but I trusted Him. There are other occasions where I have struggled with someone who hurt me yet never apologized but the Lord would tell me to forgive for they do not know what they do. Truth is if anyone has hurt you, betrayed you in anyway and has yet to say they are sorry, forgive them in your heart. The Lord does not expect you to be best friends with them especially without their repentance, but He does expect you to forgive and love like He does. No where is there biblical doctrine stating the Lord held a grudge against his trespassers. Therefore those statements above are all hypocritical to God's Word. We can't think or act on those thoughts for they are from evil plotting men who live for this world. But we are children of God who live in this world but are not of this world (John 15:19) therefore we do not conform to it (Romans 12:2). So if you have matters of the heart such as anger or pride, take them to the cross and surrender them to the Lord. If someone has wronged you, do not plot to get "even" but instead give them to the Lord for He will seek justice for the righteous. We have no better warrior than God Himself. And give because you can, not because the person can give back. In fact, we are give to those that indeed cannot pay back. Be cheerful givers. And lastly and most importantly, pray for your enemies for the wrath of God is serious for the bible tells us, And again, "God is angry with the wicked every day" (Psalm 7:11).
"In your anger do not sin: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry". Ephesians 4:26
