1 Corinthians 12:25-26
that there should be no division in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another. And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.
So much to be grateful for and at the same time, so much sadness. Have you ever felt that? As I celebrate victories and wonderful new journeys my husband and I are about to embark on, my heart is heavy for my loved ones that are suffering and not having the best of times right now. How do we as Christians balance it? I embrace my blessings for they give glory to God and I am so grateful but I also know not to impose them onto others who are less fortunate right now. We need to be sensitive to one another. We are accountable to one another and the Lord is watching us. As I watched the amazing epic The Bible on the History Channel last night, I was especially touched by Lot and how he helped the strangers that were unbeknownst to him angels of God. Sent by God to test Lot. We never know who is in our life and for what purpose. You never know if a stranger in your path was sent from heaven to test you. Even those we encounter every day must be dealt with love and compassion. We cannot be too consumed with ourselves to stop helping others. People are hurting and most won't even tell you. So ask the Lord for a heart of compassion (Romans 12:15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep) and a spirit of discernment to know when your brother or sister needs you. You might just save a life!
