James 1:12 says, "Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him".
The scriptures refer to Heaven, our reward. One day we will hear the Lord say, "well done." Revelations chapter 21 tells us what we can expect. I have to admit it is all too overwhelming for me. I have a hard time grasping it all so I encourage you to journey through Revelations. The descriptions of mansions and gold streets...just wonderful. How amazing to know we will be greeted by all the people we met along our Christian walk of life. Children we taught in Sunday school to the co worker you once shared Jesus with. Prayerfully your procession of greeters, while entering into heaven, will be a long one for it will show us who the people we touched here on earth. It matters. Serving God by ministering to His children matters. Serving in your local church. Being a part of a ministry...we are all accountable. No one is exempt. People use work as their excuse not to serve but it is not acceptable to God. Trust me, I speak from first hand experience. Everything we do matters. My friend helped a stranger on the street who was wandering, scared. She could have kept going on her way but she took her time and stopped to assist. The man had dementia and was a missing person but because of her heart for God, she had a heart for that man and saved a life. That is what matters. Don't let your own busy schedule hurt you later. That voice gnawing at you to sign up at church is telling you it matters. We cannot always do what we want to do, we have to do what we are called to do. For one day we will be met by the angels and once we know our name is in the Book of Life
and we see the Lord, He will tell us it mattered. Amen.
"He that over cometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels". Revelation 3:5
