Tuesday, March 12, 2012 "Time Alone with God"

Time spent alone with God each and every day is vital for a healthy strong relationship with Him.  Through prayer and reading the bible, we are getting to know Him as well as He knows us. "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations." (Jeremiah 1:5) We know how dangerous any idol can be, which is something or someone that we place before God and too often we don't even realize that we have one.  We must carve time in the morning for the Lord.  It rejuvenates you and renews your spirit each and every day.  What better way to arm yourself in the world each day than quality time spent with God.  Each day is a new blessing with new tender mercies and we are to give each and every one to Him.  Prayers at lunch time or driving in the car are not moments of the day where He is priority.  Those are moments we make time for God.  This same practice occurs often when we tithe what is left of our paychecks rather than tithe on the first earnings.  God must be first. Front and center.  He must be the first thing on our minds in the morning and the last thing on our minds at night.  Growing strong in our faith makes us a better spouse, parent, sibling and friend. And when we are at peace with Him, others see Him through us and that is how we bear witness for Him.  So please take your relationship with God serious.  He is not a religion or tradition that we should remember just on Sundays.  He is not a holiday token we recognize a couple times a year.  He is the Lord of Lords and the Kings of Kings and He is worthy to be praised. Amen!
