Tuesday, April 30, 3013 "He is My Refuge"

Psalm 91

1 Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.[a]
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”

He is there for you no matter what you have done. No matter who you are.  However you feel about yourself, He loves you and He understands.  He knows all things and wants you to go to Him and let Him be your refuge and strength.  He has called you and you have yet to respond.  May this be the day you say, "yes" to Jesus.

Monday, April 29, 2013 "God Can!"

God can!  He can move mountains.  He can make something impossible, possible. He can heal the sick. Feed the poor. He can bring peace to any situation.  He is our Maker, our Creator and our Abba Father.  Go to Him all who are weary and He will give you rest.  Seek first the kingdom of God and all else will be added on.  God is your answer!  You have been struggling and grappling in your mind with so many things, all the while He is just waiting for you to let Him in.  He is the way, the truth and the life.  Anything separate from God is death.  My husband is visiting an ailing friend today to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with Him.  He wants to make sure he is saved and will spend eternity in heaven with the angels, not in hell with the demons.  Our eternal life is something we all should be very aware of.  Too often I hear people discussing this and that and none of it is relevant when we take our last breath. I am sure if we were to ask my husband's friend today if he could change things would he, that the answer would be yes!  Choose Jesus now, not later. No one is guaranteed tomorrow so choose life..it will be the best decision you ever make. Amen and amen!

John 3:16

16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believesin him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Sunday, April 28,2013 "Sun Stands Still"

Sometimes when you need something, you have to walk on faith, believing to receive.  I have done this before and the Lord has always provided.  Audacious prayers were introduced in the bible when Joshua asked God to have the "sun stand still" in order to complete the task at hand and his prayer was honored.  So I call this my own "sun stand still prayer", where you need something that seems impossible. We already know whenever we seek this type of answer, it must be of God and in His will and aligned with His word. Having said that, you have the power to ask your Almighty Father for such bold requests. I remember going shopping for a big summer party for my brothers and sisters in Christ and did not even have the money to pay for all the food. A friend was with me as I shopped through the store with the food piling higher and higher. I turned to her and said, "I can't even afford to be doing this but I am walking on faith that God will provide for it". We finished our shopping and I paid with "bill" money already accounted for in the household budget. I don't need to tell you that by the end of the day, that grocery bill was paid for.  The Lord provided those monies without me saying one word to anyone. So I  challenge you to step out in bold faith and pray your "sun stand still prayer".  What is it that you need/want/desire that takes audacious praying to ever achieve?  Our God is the same God that Joshua prayed to.  He has not changed. The Lord loves when we trust Him enough to go to Him for all things, big and small. So never be shy with Him nor in your faith walk.  Pray boldly, think boldly and be on fire on Jesus.  Prayer changes things  ....  Prayer moves the hands of God.

Joshua 10: 12-14

On the day the Lord gave the Amorites over to Israel, Joshua said to the Lord in the presence of Israel:
“Sun, stand still over Gibeon,
and you, moon, over the Valley of Aijalon.
13 So the sun stood still,
    and the moon stopped,
till the nation avenged itself on[b] its enemies,
as it is written in the Book of Jashar.
The sun stopped in the middle of the sky and delayed going down about a full day. 14 There has never been a day like it before or since, a day when the Lord listened to a human being. Surely the Lord was fighting for Israel!

Saturday, April 27, 2013 "He Shall Direct thy Paths"

"In all ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths". Proverbs 3:6

The Lord will take you and guide you each and every step if you allow Him.  He will not force Himself on you, He will only come so close.  We must willingly submit ourselves to Him.  It sounds so wonderful yet so many Christians struggle with giving up the reins.  Losing control scares many people and their short term fears hinder their life's long term results.  It is vital to acknowledge Him, give yourself completely to Him and wait on Him. I posted on my Facebook a great mind stopper....

Joseph waited 13 years, Abraham waited 25 years, Moses waited 40 years, Jesus waited 30 years, if God is making you wait, you are in good company.

Friday, April 26, 2013 "I Will Make a Helper Suitable for Him"

"He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the LORD." Proverbs 18:22

My husband loves this scripture for he believes as Jesus said in Genesis 2:18, The LORD God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him."  We have learned so much about marriage over the years. The one dynamic we have learned is that men want to be respected while the wives want to feel secure.  Interesting but when practiced, it is effective. The Lord calls the man to be the priest, provider and protector of the home but it does not mean the wife is less than. It simply means the Lord has placed much responsibility on the man and it is to provide for his family.  I love that and find it so comforting and romantic. Chivalrous almost.  I worked my whole life being independent and being successful based on the world's standard so it is nice to be taken care of in my home. Our life has balance and we know our roles. I tell my husband that the home is run and owned by the Lord. I call Him the "house manager".  He guides and instructs me on the going ons on the house in addition to running it. I rely on Him totally for what needs to be taken care of.  He'll tell me what to repair, when and will bring that " expert" into my path. We recently met a plumber who was a brother in Christ.  He was kind enough to take care of two major issues in our home for less than what he normally would charge. That is favor from the Lord. And I made sure he knew that he would in fact be blessed for helping us. My husband prays and recites the Proverbs 18:22 scripture often for we both believe that we bring verses "life". We speak all gospel in our home to bring peace and joy in.  Anything other than that is death in your home.  In order to live as God created us as husband and wife, it is important to know our roles. Although we are are equal partners, the Lord has given each specific titles.  I pray that if your marriage is experiencing difficulties, that you try some of these biblical practices. Add them into your relationship and I promise you, your marriage will improve. We as couples in Christ will be attacked often for we are "unions" in Him therefore expect major challenges to come. Learn to pray together, pray for one another, seal and sure up your homes, seek God in all decisions and communicate with one another. Remember the couples that pray together, stay together so keep God center and all things will come together. I lift your marriage up in prayer and I ask that the lord restore it back to wholeness.

Thursday, April 25, 2013 "Salt and Light"

Salt and Light

13 “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.
14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.

Matthew 5:13-14

Being a Christian in this world is not convenient nor simple.  In fact it is rather similar to a round peg being forced into a square hole ... it simply does not fit. No matter how hard you try, no matter how many different ways or angles you approach the situation, the round peg will never fit in the square hole. Look at your own self in this illustration.  You grow frustrated by this world and the mindsets of those in it because they do not think or act like Jesus.  Heck a lot of people don't even believe in Jesus.  And yet we are called to be the salt of the earth, which means to add flavor to an other wise bland world..a world without the Lord.  Witnessing to another about the Lord is not easy in today's society but it must be done.  We already know as soldiers for Christ that the real enemy we battle is not the negative closed minded person we bear witness to, it is satan.  He is behind the forces of this person's thinking ... their doubts, fears, their negativity, their argumentative nature. Anything to distract their minds from the truth. Don't get angry at this person, pray for them with all your heart for they do not know.  All they know to do is debate you. Therefore show them in a loving way that the Lord is real and He came to save all of us from an eternal life of torture.  Having done all, pray for the seeds you sown and move on.  We are all vessels used by God in different ways so know in your heart no word will return empty. "So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it".  Isaiah 55:11

Wednesday, April 24, 2013 "Trust God"

Remember - Trust God.
Have not I commanded you? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be you dismayed: for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9

The Lord does not forsake those that seek Him.  Remember to Trust God.  I know you are scared and feel alone but He is with you.  Trust Him.  He wants us to go to Him when we are weary and He will lift us up.  Have faith in the Almighty Father who was and is and always will be with you. "I know the LORD is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me". (Psalm 16:8) He is the great I AM and He will do what He says He will do.  All the events in the life of a believer are ordained by Lord God Himself for He knew us before we were created in our mother's womb.(Jeremiah 1:5)  That is how much He loves us and can be trusted with our health, our financial crisis, our broken relationships, our wayward children, our unemployment status....we can Trust God.  There is nothing He can not do. Just keep your eyes on Him and keep your faith in Him.  And just keep telling yourself..... He's Got This!

Tuesday, April 22, 2013 "All Things Work Together for Good"

Romans 8:27-28(NKJV)

27 "Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose".

And Lord I declare this promise today as my husband and I await a major decision in our lives.  We trust You, we honor Your will and we will do as You say, not as we want. We ask that you strengthen us during this difficult time and may the Spirit of protection comfort us. We pray for an abundance of favor and multitude of blessings today in the lives of our loved ones and ourselves. May we not be able to contain all the blessings You are about to pour out over us. We thank You and we exalt your holy name today.

Monday, April 22, 2013 "Overcome Evil with Good"

Romans 12:21

21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Victory is won. The Lord won the battle at Calvary therefore we are the victors not the victims in this world.  We may live here but we are not "of this  world" for our time here is temporal.  The Lord is preparing our eternal place in Heaven.  We cannot be surprised of the evil that surrounds us. The schools took the Lord out of their classroom and now the government wants God off our currency and we wonder why there are horror stories of school shootings and economic crashes of epic proportion.  Evil is all around us.  But we are children of God and we are the light in this other wise dark place.  We are to shine His goodness and grace and spread His promise of salvation to all the people.  For the people of this Earth are either for God or against God.  We are effected by evil everyday in the workplace with competitors wanting what we have.  Instead of retaliating, we are to forgive and not react to their behavior.  We are to look at things through the eyes of the super natural and know that the challenges we face are directly correlated to the Lord and when we know that, we can accept things better and handle situations calmer.  When someone trespasses against you, forgive.  When someone does you wrong, pray for them for they do not know what they do.(Luke 23:34)  Pray pray pray in all things.  And most of all we need to rejoice in the Lord, always.  For we are more than conquerors in Christ Jesus. (Romans 8:37)

Sunday, April 21, 2013 "Hallowed be Your Name"

He said to them, "When you pray, say: "'Father, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come.  Luke 11:2

After this verse came to my heart, I wanted to know exactly what hallowed meant. Looking up the definition hallowed you find: "sanctified; consecrated; highly venerated; sacrosanct," like the hallowed halls of a great building. To hallow is "to make or set apart as holy. To respect or honor greatly; revere." In simpler terms, we often use hallowed to refer to someone whom we should treat with awe and respect because they deserve it. And why does the Lord's prayer contain the phrase, "Hallowed be Your name"? The phrase follows the opening of the prayer, which directly addresses God, so we know that the phrase means that God's name should be hallowed. And this is why the bible and all of the scriptures are so fascinating. Layers upon layers of meaning and substance. Thank you Lord for your Word.

Matthew 6:9-13

“This, then, is how you should pray:

"Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, 10 your kingdom come, your will be done,  on earth as it is in heaven. 11 Give us today our daily bread.12 And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.13  And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.

Saturday, April 20, 2013 "Faith Comes from Hearing the Message"

"Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ".
Romans 10:17

Faith comes by hearing the Word of God. My husband tells me all the time that it is good to pray out loud.  He "preaches" out loud. We learn when we hear it, instead of just reading it. Interesting. People may think we are kooky but we are not here to please man, we are here to glorify and honor God.  The more we know, the more we are equipped and able for battle.  The battle is the spiritual warfare of good vs. evil, angels vs. demons.  As they say in the war of the principalities there is no "neutral zone", you are either fighting for God or against God. Our faith in Christ comes from trusting Him in spite of the fact that we cannot see Him.  Yet we believe.  So as children of God we are to be prepared and armed. We need to be well versed in scripture. I am learning and reading everyday to better myself so when I am faced with a question or objection, I am ready to handle it.  The Lord just loves when we worship Him and exemplify Him.  He blesses us beyond our comprehension for being righteous and faithful. Your life will transform and be complete. You will have a sense of unending peace because of His grace and mercy. And your heart will grow tender to the Spirit's leading.  So if you know something is missing in your walk and you want to know Him on a deeper level, then take the challenge of reading His Word each day. Read it out loud, take notes and then apply it to your daily life. And may you rest in His love knowing that He works everything together for good.

Numbers 6:24-26

New International Version (NIV)
24 “The Lord bless you
    and keep you;
25 the Lord make his face shine on you
    and be gracious to you;
26 the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”’

Friday, April 19, 2013 " The Lord wants a Relationship with You"

1 Sam 15:22 "Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings ...as much as in obeying the voice of the Lord? To obey is better than sacrifice..." (Mat 21:28-31)

If we take the time to quiet our minds, we will hear from God.  He longs to have a relationship with all of us.  One that means we interact with Him every day.  He is our heavenly Father and He should be seen in the same way we view our relationship with our earthly mother and/or father.  I ask the Lord to speak to me and I then obey His word.  My husband and I are facing many challenges as we work out details to a new endeavor and we are seeking the Lord throughout. It is so neat to see how He is answering both of us separately and how the ideas He is laying on both our hearts are in unison. That is the power of God.  I left a store yesterday very overwhelmed, that state where nothing gets done because you don't even know the first place to start?  Within an hour He gave clarity to the situation through my husband and by this morning, the entire "plan" was resolved right down to every needed detail. So cool.  He is a part of every teeny speck of our lives. Every thing.  He wants that with you too.  Search your heart and clear your mind and make Him front and center.  Best decision you will ever make!

"Go near and listen to all that the LORD our God says. Then tell us whatever the LORD our God tells you. We will listen and obey." Deuteronomy 5:27

Thursday, April 18, 2013 "Lord Enlarge my Territory"

Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, "Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain." And God granted his request.
1 Chronicles 4:10

What a powerful prayer. Lord, enlarge my territory.  When we call upon the Lord to broaden our scope of evangelism, ministries, blessings to others and ourselves, He will. You will meet others through divine connections and He will move in ways never thought possible.  He will open doors other wise closed and mountains will be cast into the seas.  We must be prepared and equipped with the knowledge and wisdom of God to know what to do with this very honored gift.  The Lord will use you and work through you when you ask.  He will call upon you and do wondrous things through you. My husband began a small evangelist ministry within our home where people met twice a week and went out in town and talked to people about Jesus. Through his "core of 4 people" they led as a whole 86 people to Christ in their first year. The Lord has now enlarged our territory by taking those same 4 people and has formed a weekly bible study that has tripled in size and is now becoming a home grown church. All within a year and a half. What is happening is the seeds that the ministry first harvested in the fields are now being blessed by God and are growing thus enlarging our territory.  Very exciting to be a part of it.  So are you ready to challenge yourself for God?  Are you ready for the journey of your life by enlarging your own territory?  May the Lord bless you and keep you.

Wednesday, April 17, 2013 "We are Brothers and Sisters in Christ"

"Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. 29 And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife[a] or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life. 30 But many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first."     Matthew 19:28-30

Accept one another for who they are.  If there is sin in another's life, go to them privately. Do not then judge them or turn your back on them.  Do not gossip about it.  Do not repeat what someone has shared in confidence. I proudly have always been nicknamed, "keeper of all secrets" because I would never divulge what someone shared with me in private nor would I ever betray someone.  When our intentions are pure in spirit, the Lord will honor that.  We should be made to be accountable partners for one another. I know my husband is mine.  When I do, think or say something that is wrong, I confess it to him. There is atonement when we speak our sins to another. Man does not offer up his forgiveness (that was why I hated going to confession as a child) but we are to be accountable to another.  With so much going against the believer already in today's society, the last thing we need to do is turn on one another.  It is such a small circle and we all need each other. The bible says in Ephesians 2:19 that "familial relationships are established".  We are true brothers and sisters in Christ because we all share the same Father.  Cherish that. Some of us are closer to our Christ siblings than our own. Many families have distanced and/or disowned their families for following Jesus.  In fact, in verse 30 of the scripture that says, "many who are last will be first" refers to all of us that have been rejected from the world. I can name so many examples of fellow believers, including myself, that were rejected in their work places for being "different" or having "faith".  Being called Jesus freaks or hypocrites.  So for all of us that have chosen to go to the back of the line for Jesus, will be first in the kingdom of God. Do not turn your back on anyone for temporal gain.  We are not of this world therefore we are not supposed to "fit in".  Surround yourself with a strong core of family who shares the love of God with you.  Build a circle of people who will encourage you and lift you up in prayer, not try to drag you down.  Be of one accord.  So today, pray for your loved ones, your circle of friends, your brothers and sisters in Christ and thank the good Lord for all who have come to your life. What a blessing they are!

Tuesday, April 16, 2013 "The Lord Provides"

Jehovah Jireh means the Lord Who provides (Genesis 22:12-14).  He will supply all of our needs.  He promises us that we never need to worry what we will eat. If the birds are fed, do we not know how much more He loves and cares for us? (Matthew 6:25-26).  He does not want us to be anxious about what we will eat, drink or wear for clothes.  He will provide.  He wants us to worship Him and glorify Him in our lives. The most pleasing way is to love others, His children. We are to love one another, minister to one another and help one another.  My husband and I are led to follow the biblical instructions of feeding His children who are less fortunate and poor, the widows and the children.  We must help as much as we can.  I pray to the Lord every day to bless my husband and I beyond comprehension so that we can bless others. I pray that He pour out so many blessings into our home that we can not contain it (Malachi 3:10).  I declare that scripture in our lives for we will honor our blessings onto others.  I think one of the hardest truths my husband and I had to face when we went through during our financial struggles was the lack of support.  Only two people were there for us and that was it.  We were on our own, our choices, therefore it was our bed to lie in. How sad! But we learned so much from our leanest of days and we professed to our Lord and Savior that we would never have anyone feel the way we felt, which was so alone and so abandoned. Matthew 7:2 tells us very clearly ," For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you".  So rebuke your judgmental eyes and your ignorant ways. The thoughts you justify in your head, "what I don't know won't hurt me", "I have my own problems", "get a job, you lazy thing" , "the less I know, the better off I am."  Sometimes people need more than just your prayers. I love when someone says, "I will pray for you" when in fact the person needs groceries. Help your brother! Help your sister!  God has zero tolerance for this selfish mindset.

"Lord, I ask that you touch the hearts of your people and may they come to realize that the blessings you have bestowed upon them are in fact to be blessings for someone else. May they search their hearts to this truth and I ask that You reveal to them who is in need. May we put down our thoughts of self and turn outward to others instead of only inward. We are all the body of Christ and are not obligated to only help our own, we are to help whoever is in need. Open their eyes and soften their hearts Lord to the needs of others. And I ask all these things in your precious name, Amen."

Monday, April 15, 2013 "Power in Our Words"

Words can hurt.  They can damage someone.  They can encourage.  They can heal and uplift.  Amazing the power in our words.  We must truly be mindful of what we say.  Often you hear, "it is not what you say, but how you say it".  I disagree. Sometimes there are things that should not be said.  Honesty is always the best policy but it does not mean we must speak out loud everything we think and feel.  It is astonishing how easy people can criticize or put down another yet the three simplest words of all, "I am sorry" barely get spoken.  I had someone admit to me it is hard for them to say it. Stubbornness and pride will get you every time.  Pray on it!  I love to cook for people and open my home to others and all I ever want to hear in the end is, "that was delicious" or "thank you so much".  When a guest comes into my home and does not acknowledge the gesture, I am devastated.  It angers me and I have to pray for resentment not to set in and take attitude, "they will never be welcome here".  I believe in second, third chances, fourth chances....I want to be given a second chance therefore I extend that to others.  In fact the bible teaches For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. Matthew 7:2  Very powerful scripture to live by.  My husband and I will say it all the time that we will never judge or criticize another person's choices in life for we do not want the wrath on us.  I tell my loved ones all the time to be careful what they say of another for the very thing they hope will or will not happen to someone will come back on them.  I remember years ago my husband and I were visiting New York City and all the star players from the show Survivor (yes I was a fan then and still watch every episode) were in town.  My one niece, who was young at the time and did not understand this principle yet, was "hoping" I would not run into her favorite one player. Unbeknownst to me she felt this way for she didn't tell me until after I came home. Now knowing this biblical truth, who do you think was the one and only player that I came face to face with? The very one she hoped I would not see/meet. It is a silly story and not one to embarrass her but it was innocent enough to use as an illustration nonetheless.  Be careful of what you think and say.  Love and encourage one another.  Be the example of how to show God's love.  I'll tell you no one I know exemplifies this more than my husband. What an example of God he is.  We should all take a page out of his book. Even better, God left us all the same book to read, learn and apply in our daily walk and it is sitting on your living room table.  Read the Word! It will do ya good. Have a blessed week coming up.

Sunday, April 14, 2013 "His Grace is Sufficient for Me"

“To keep me from becoming conceited because of these surpassingly great revelations, there was given me a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. [8] Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. [9] But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. [10] That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”
2 Corinthians 12:7-10

There are many things that have occurred in my life that I have asked God, "Why is this happening?"  Never have I lost faith or doubted, more in that I would lose hope.  I would grow weary in my waiting.  I would be saddened in my valley.  I would always go before the Lord and ask that He help me and I know I had to go through what I did for a greater purpose later.  God has often some thing better in store for us than would be the immediate answer to our prayer and I knew it then and still know it now.  But it is still a gut wrencher to endure. Who can doubt that this was true of Paul? The promised grace of Christ as sufficient to support us is of more value than would be the mere removal of any temporal trial.  Who can tell what is best for herself/himself?  If every prayer was answered immediately and every affliction would end upon our cry, who can tell how soon we might forget needing a Savior. We might become proud and self-confident. It was the design of God to humble Paul; and this is the same for us today.  So my prayer for anyone going through an extremely difficult time wondering if God has forsaken you, remember His strength is made perfect in weakness.  Trust Him, keep your eyes on Him and stand on the promises of His Word.  He has never once let me down, and He won't let you down either.  I will leave you with the most precious words He has spoken to me and they are for you as well..., "Just keep trusting little one."  God is Faithful!

Saturday, April 13, 2013 "I am Forever Grateful"

1 Thessalonians 5:18 - "In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you".

I am forever grateful to You.  I am forever grateful for the cross.  Words from one of my favorite church songs.  The love and peace the Lord has bestowed upon me fills my heart with thanksgiving and praise.  I am grateful for His mercy and His goodness and His Word is true.  Too often I am let down by people's actions and my feelings are hurt but God has never let me down.  When I feel my loneliest, He is with me.  I will be eternally grateful to Him for all He has done in my life.  Do you have a close and personal relationship with Him?  Or do you view God as your religion?  I believe with all my heart that to know Jesus Christ is to covet Him as your Father, your best friend.  He wants us to go to Him with everything for He longs to be a part of our lives.  Therefore I pray about everything.  I take every thing to the throne.  Nothing is too small or too big for Him. I am saddened when I hear others think it is selfish to pray for their own self.  Such a lie of the enemy.  I want you today to give the Lord all your gratitude.  Glorify Him in your worship and praise and walk the walk in victory.  May you live in abundance and may you truly grasp and meditate on how much God loves you.  And never hold anything back from Him.  Your obedience will unlock His power in your life and you will not be able to contain the joy it will bring.  Trust Him! Proverbs 3:5

Friday, April 12, 2013 "Be Anxious for Nothing"

Our emotions will get us to sin every time. Anger, despair, hopelessness, jealousy, worriment, impatience, pride, so many others.  We tend to react in the moment of flesh instead of the spirit.  I have to admit I am learning now how not to react in the moment.  And I find later the peace I didn't have.  We tend to interrupt God's will when we are emotional. So many grow tired of waiting therefore they "do".  Others lose hope and give up and do far worse to themselves, God forbid.  Hurting oneself is never the answer and if you know of anyone suffering, please keep a close eye on them.  The comforting thing to know is anyone that is saved and covered by the blood of the Lamb can never be possessed by the evil one.  They may be oppressed which means a sense of being weighed down in body or mind (like depression). But anxiety and other mental illnesses are not of God. In fact in Philippians 4:6 we are told, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God". I recently was lying in bed and my mind was wondering and the Lord interrupted my thoughts and cited this very promise which was not to be anxious. I encourage you to pray for this revelation in your life because it is a life changer.  You become free.  You will no longer worry where your electric bill money will come from or meal, or how the mortgage will be paid or how the presentation at work will get done, it will be effortless.  Your life will have a sense of calm.  Better known as "blessed assurance".  You will know in your heart, soul and mind that the Lord is the Lord of your life and He will not forsake you in any situation.  Your fears of life and the not knowing will dissipate and the chains of emotional bondage will be broken. Ask the Lord to help change you.  Too often we are asking Him to change everyone else but we need to work on our own growth and the rest will fall into its proper place.  If you struggle with anger or depression or just worry about everything and drive yourself crazy with analyzing God's every move, go to the throne and surrender it. In order to submit to God, we submit to the authority He has placed over us. The blessings and peace that we gain from humbly surrendering and submitting ourselves to Him daily are a gift of grace that nothing in this world can compare to.  Have a blessed day in Him.

Thursday, April 11, 2013 "The Lord Loves Justice"

For the Lord is righteous,

    he loves justice;
the upright will see his face. Psalm 11:7

Never grow weary of doing good.  Do not look at the dishonest around you and think they are getting away with anything.  Don't covet what your neighbor has for they may lack soul.  We cannot measure our own lives by comparing to others.  Not all the glitters is gold and beside that, we are defined as children of God.  Not our status, possessions nor careers.  We are righteous in God's eyes and we are to keep everything that is holy around us.  We will see His face some day and our rewards will be known.  Do not live to please man.  Do not long for the world's acceptance.  Live to please God.  In everything you do, do it to glorify Him.  And you will be blessed.

The Lord your God has blessed you in all the work of your hands. He has watched over your journey through this vast wilderness. Deuteronomy 2:7

Wednesday, April 10, 2013 "What is Your Gift?"

"For many are invited, but few are chosen." Matthew 22:14

The Lord does not play favoritism  (Romans 2:11) Therefore He does not call me and not you. He loves all His children equally.  He never created hell for his angels.  It was a place for satan and his servants.  But over time those that chose sin and those that chose to forsake and deny Him, were not able to enter the gates of heaven. "But whoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven". (Matthew 10:33)  His desire is for all of His children to follow Him on this earth while giving all glory and honor to Him. So many say, "I am not worthy" or "I don't have anything special to offer"...we all have gifts from God.  In fact, you should do a study on gifts because there are so many you would never believe. Did you know there is a gift of administration? Hospitality? We all have been given gift(s) from God. We need to seek Him for that revelation. The bible tells us, "But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it. This is why it[a]says, “When he ascended on high,  he took many captives and gave gifts to his people". (Ephesians 4:7-8). "Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. (1 Corinthians 12:7). God has given each believer spiritual gifts that He "wills" (places this desire on our hearts) us to use for His glory.  People that say they don't have a gift are fearful and/or in denial.  That is why the scripture that many are invited, but few are chosen was laid upon my heart because the Lord has called upon ALL his children.  It is my prayer for you today that you search your heart and kneel before your Almighty God and enter into His presence with thanksgiving. Ask for His spiritual understanding and truth and He will show you the gifts He has blessed you with.  Everything we are is for His glory, every blessing we have been given, is to bless someone else. He seeks the humble while resisting the proud therefore we must not allow our pride to interfere with the true purpose of why we have been given the talent/gift we have. And may you use your gifts to further the kingdom of God and may your life be enriched and blessed for it. Have a wonderful day in Him.

"Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, 10 to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy,to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues,[a] and to still another the interpretation of tongues.[b] 11 All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines". 1 Corinthians 12:7-11
