"Then Peter said, Lo, we have left thee. And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children, for the kingdom of God's sake, Who shall not receive manifold more in this present time, and in the world to come life everlasting". Luke 18:28-30
As I read this scripture this morning, my mind flooded back to the journey I have been led on. It summarizes truly how I feel and all that matters to me and to my household is obeying God. Obeying God's word and His direction for your life does not mean when it is convenient for you. When all the ducks are in a row and it all falls perfectly into your lap. Could not be the furthest from it. The truth is the path of obedience we choose to take sometimes is an excruciating process. The narrowest of paths are the hardest to stay on but that is when the richest blessings of God in your life are best understood, not by what it cost you to follow Him, but by understanding all you have gained in obeying His call. To go where He leads you means you have taken the higher ground. To take up your cross means you have drawn closer to His heart. To keep your hand to the plow means your eyes are set on greater riches. Seek His will for your life, not what you want for your life. It is only then you will truly be free and able to do as God commands. This is not about the time being right, it is about God's timing and His timing is always perfect. Has the Lord been asking you to do something you have yet to obey? I encourage you to listen and obey.
