Mark 10:29-31
29 “Truly I tell you,” Jesus replied, “no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel 30 will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age: homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields—along with persecutions—and in the age to come eternal life. 31 But many who are first will be last, and the last first.”
I truly believe when God closes a door to something in our life, it is for a bigger purpose. When He takes something from us or asks us to lay something down, I believe and I know it is to give us something greater. What we need to do as believers in Christ is to stop dwelling on the closed door or what we gave up. But instead keep our eyes on the One who provides it all for us and embrace the new door He has placed in front of us. One of the most precious scriptures the Lord laid on my heart was Mark 10:29-31. When He asked me to walk away from my job and all my "security" to place all my trust in Him, I did. Without hesitation or reservation, I gave up many things and many relationships. What the Lord has replaced in my life since that day, three years ago, has been nothing short of a miracle. He has blessed my husband and I with so many brothers and sisters in Christ to truly count as our family, financial blessings and security and our home. The things we had to give up were enslaving us but we were too blinded to see. And now we are free to the world and have more than ever before. Because we obeyed and listened to God and did not dwell on what we lost, but all that we gained, we were blessed. He also fulfilled His promise He makes to us when we give of ourselves and honor Him with our tithes and offerings, that He will open up the windows of heaven and pour out so much blessing we will not be able to contain. (Malachi 3:10 says: 10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in Mine house, and put Me to the proof now herewith,” saith the Lord of hosts, “if I will not open to you the windows of heaven and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it). In my business I sell things for others for a commission. A person in need needed my services but could not afford to pay my commission so I decided to help her and sell what I could and give her 100% of the earnings. She didn't know how much I needed the monies as well but God did and He knew my heart. I sacrificed my needs for the sake of another and because of God's amazing favor, all her items sold and she was blessed. I never begrudged her nor longed after the "lost wages" but instead kept on moving. Since then He has blessed me with two huge donations of items from two women that wanted nothing from me accept to bless me. When I tell you there is so much inventory that I barely have room in the house to even contain it all is an under statement. He again did exactly what His word said He would do. Our God is faithful to those that seek Him, love Him and obey and honor His Word. I share my testimonies to encourage you never to give up or be fearful of what He may ask of you. Believe me, I have been there and I know, I know, I know how scary it is but you can trust Him. He never left me, He always provided for my husband and I and our daily needs were always met. We were fed, clothed and provided shelter. So what is it He is asking of you that you have yet to obey? Are you ignoring Him, putting it off until the time is right? The blessings He will bestow upon your house and loved ones is bountiful. Trust Him today. Listen to Him today. Answer and obey Him today.
