Wednesday, May 1, 2013 "The Rainbow Always Follows the Rain"

Be well balanced (temperate, sober of mind), be vigilant and cautious at all times; for that enemy of yours, the devil, roams around like a lion roaring [in fierce hunger], seeking someone to seize upon and devour. Withstand him; be firm in faith [against his onset--rooted, established, strong, immovable, and determined], knowing that the same (identical) sufferings are appointed to your brotherhood (the whole body of Christians) throughout the world. 1 Peter 5: 8-9

There is always the rainbow after the rain.  I tell myself this anytime cloudy times come upon me.  The closer we get to God, the more frequent the enemy will try to dissuade.  When you are a warrior in your Christian walk, expect the battles to come.  I read it before when Christians are not rocking the grounds, the enemy is not threatened by them therefore they don't experience the "attacks" another may.  If you are serving in your local church and you are feeling "resistance" it is because you are making a difference and are right where you should be. The devil does not waste his time on lazy believers who don't fight and stand up for Christ. That is why he attacks the church and honest men and women of God.  A friend of mine was telling me how someone told her they "envied" her spiritual gifts and she told them she had to go through hell and back for those gifts. She is such a bold woman of God and is used in so many ways, that the enemy has battled her for years.  But we are conquerors in Christ and the battle has already won.  We are the victors in this spiritual warfare.  But that does not mean we are to rest on our laurels.  No we are to be diligent in our faith, prayer life and walk and never give up sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ.  But expect adversity to come. If you are helping others who are less fortunate whether it be through food, money, or lending a hand with rides etc...expect to be challenged. Prepare for the attacks because we are always looked at when we are making a difference.  Remember to speak life in your words for the devil cannot read your mind therefore he only learns from what you tell him.  And hold your peace because he does not know what to do when we stay in the Lord's peace. So be a channel of His peace and continue the battle. For the battle must rage on until Jesus comes back again. And be not afraid for no weapon formed against you will prosper. (Isaiah 54:17) Those fiery darts aimed at you will bounce off your shield of faith and will return to where they came from. Pray for your enemies who curse you for they do not know the wrath of the Lord, for the love He has for His children. And know that this storm will pass and the rainbow will appear once more. The Lord is with you and with me every step of this journey and with God on our side, who can be against us? (Romans 8:31
