Friday, June 7, 2013 " I Surrender All"

Luke 22:42

42 “Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.”

"Jesus take the wheel" is one of the most popular songs played on the radio and it is symbolic to me because it speaks of truly surrendering oneself to the Lord. And all that goes with that. So many give up what they don't want to control to the Lord but then try to hold on to what they rather control. That is not full submission. To surrender all means all of it.  Our life is no longer ours, but His and His will for us.  I tell my husband everyday what a privilege and an honor it is to serve Him only. To wake up each day knowing you are in the will of the Lord, doing exactly what He called you to do. To know your life has value and purpose is an amazing feeling. So many are lost and confused and living outside the will that they have to self medicate themselves to manage their lives. You know this to be true because every day a new drugstore is popping up on a street corner while another church is closing. Over 3,000 churches a year are closing. What is wrong with this picture? People need the Lord now more than ever yet they choose to struggle through this life on their own. It will be their demise if they do not repent and surrender their lives to the only One who can truly satisfy and complete them. If you are a believer and have been struggling with fully surrendering it all to Him, may this be the day you obey and submit. Submission is obedience and there is great reward when we obey. Great blessed assurance, peace that surpasses all understanding and full depth of joy that no man can rob. Stop letting the devil steal your joy today. Take back what he stole and give yourself over to the Lord, the true Savior that loves you and wants to bless you beyond all measure. So I challenge you today to lay down what is weighing you down and allow yourself to rest in Him. I lift you up in prayer today.
