Monday, June 3, 2013 "God Will Use You"

Decide that you don’t mind being inconvenienced or interrupted, and God will use you to make a difference. - Joyce Meyer

The Lord calls us all to service but not all of His children listen and obey. Not all hearts are open to service; in fact many look at it as a choice. But the truth is, it is biblical and everyone should be serving Him in some area of their life. I will say that I have found that some churches abuse this Godly command therefore we must move wisely and into the area to which God called us, not where man needs us. I served in the children's ministry for two years. I wanted to just hold the kids when they cried, play Lego's with them while the real leaders did all the teaching and work. Well the Lord let me have that attitude for less than six months and decided to place me in the leadership role, having zero experience in teaching or day care. Sure I watched my nieces when they were little and what young girl did not babysit, but teaching 30 children every week? Parents who dropped their children off in my care faithfully and trustingly? It was an overwhelming task and I fought God and the service for four months. I was attacked every week being told in my head I was not qualified or equipped to handle such a thing, who was I? The enemy came at me hard. I would wake up every Sunday nervous and sick to my stomach at the thought of serving.  I resented the fact that all the responsibility was on me to learn the lesson, teach it, pick the crafts and discipline them all at the same time while the other aids just played Lego's and read to them. I one day gave in to my fears and let the enemy convince me to quit but the Lord would have none of it and intervened and the pastor called me at home and after prayer with the Lord, I returned. And He will use anyone to confirm his word, even a four year old. For that following Sunday, while a father was dropping off his child and signing her in, he said to me, "J asked me as we were driving in, "Is Miss Cindy going to be my teacher today?" and it was then I knew in my heart I was exactly where God wanted me, to be used in a small way in the lives of these precious children of God and helping make a difference. And I can say from that moment on, I taught each and every Sunday morning with a smile on my face and joy in my heart. Through this journey I learned that we will face the biggest resistance when we are making a difference in an area and it is how we will know we are exactly where God wants us to be. God does not want us to be comfortable, He wants us to be effective. Therefore search your own heart, your own attitude on serving in an area of your church or local community. Challenge yourself and  allow the Lord to use you...for when you fully surrender to this truth, He will use you in a mighty way, all for His glory and honor.

10 Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. 11 If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.   1 Peter 4:10-11

This is dedicated to all who came and attended and served in "Our Dwelling Place" first church service last night. Thank you and may the Lord bless you and keep you in His care each and every day you live to honor Him. C and C
