1 Samuel 12:24
English Standard Version (ESV)
24 Only fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart. For consider what great things he has done for you.
What a powerful word the Lord laid on my heart. When we choose a life of Christ, it can be daunting. It can be a struggle. People are ashamed of Jesus, they are inward Christians in that they believe in Him but do not share His name with others. They have allowed the people of this world make them uncomfortable sharing the gospel. I hardly watch any news or television other than things I personally tape then watch at night to unwind. I refuse to be influenced by anyone or anything. My life is centered around Jesus Christ and He is who I serve. I fear Him for He is a just God and there are consequences to my actions therefore I obey and follow His commandments. Sounds too strict? I rather be a slave for Christ than a slave to this world. When I worked in a high pressure sales environment, the number one goal on everyone's heart was money and making lots of it. Compromises had to be made, lines were crossed and lines were certainly blurred. Not proud of it, but I can confess my sins to the Lord and I know I am forgiven. Man no longer has me enslaved to the blessings the Lord has bestowed upon me. All great things come from God, not your boss. Do not let anyone convince you otherwise. Your employer is simply the vessel the Lord uses to bless you. To quote my husband, I have never been so free since becoming a slave for Christ. My heart is full, my life is joyful and I live in abundance. The desires of my heart were fulfilled and I am at rest and at peace. And that is the work of the one and only true God.
