"Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will send you out to fish for people." Matthew 4:19
Faith is not believing that God can, it is knowing He will. Amen! What an amazing promise. How can we believers go through life with anything other than a huge smile on our face and on our hearts knowing the love we have with Jesus. He is all we need. It is so sad to me to watch people suffer in life trying to do things on their own. Whether it be their pride or stubbornness or both, they are missing out on the greatest love affair they will ever know. They search and search and consume and consume and they come up empty and unsatisfied every time. We mourn for their futures but we should mourn for their present too. The Lord came and died so that we would live life in abundance. We will all face trials and experience heartache and suffering but the difference is we have the Lord on our side comforting us and molding us into something greater than what we see at face value. It motivates me to truly pray each day that the Lord would provide a divine appointment for me so that I can glorify His name in some way. Whether it be to evangelize in sharing my faith or simply glorifying Him, I ask that I am used each day. I make the smallest of errands a gesture for Him. When I am at the bank or even gas station I make the sign of the cross and I lift my hand up to God in thanksgiving. This shows the teller or attendant that I am honoring Him. I always try to say "praise God" to someone when they tell me something about themselves and my husband faithfully says, "have a blessed day in Jesus' name" and I see the smiles on the faces. It is something so small yet so mighty. I remember a few years back we were eating a local Chinese restaurant and my husband approached the table of gentlemen behind us and offered them a praise CD and gospel tract. Turns out the one man was a pastor in Pennsylvania and was down visiting some friends. When he left he stopped by our table and shook my husband's hand and said how amazed and taken back he was at how bold my husband shared his faith and it made him evaluate himself to do more. That is making a difference for the kingdom of God. So let's all take the personal Evangelism Challenge and ask the Lord for the boldness and the opportunities to share Him with another. Just think if we all took this one brave step forward, what a difference we could make?
