1 Peter 4:16-17 Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in that name. For it is time for judgment to begin at the household of God; and if it begins with us, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God?
Three years ago today the Lord spoke two simple words in His quiet sweet way into my heart and they were enough to change the course of my life forever. For when He spoke "it's time" it began my journey of obedience, honoring Him, and trusting Him no matter how hard it was going to get. My faith was strengthened beyond what I thought humanly possible as I went through the fire and coals. The Lord loves you and me so much He sent His only Son to die for us and take on all the sins of the world so that we could live eternally with Him, however when we sin, there are consequences for our actions. Romans 2:6-8 He will render to each one according to his works: to those who by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, he will give eternal life; but for those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, there will be wrath and fury. I had committed the sin of idolatry and the Lord took me through the pit and valley so low that there was no one or nothing I could trust more than He. The valley lasted almost the three years from the day I obeyed His word and left my place of employment without warning, without a plan, without a second's notice to follow Him and honor His Word by my walk. I have been saved for twenty years this past year and yet my life the last few years had been more of a survival story than a victorious story and my heart was hardening and my light was diminishing. But He loved me so much that He put out His hand to me, exactly where I was and met me there, and I took hold. I left my job, sacrificed friends, my career not to mention I put everything I owned at great risk, including my home. But He told me to trust Him no matter how hard it was going to be and I did. My faith did not waiver even during the scariest of days for my husband and I. For we knew no matter how bad things seemed, our God could do anything for His will took me to the place we were at therefore we knew His grace would sustain us there and it did. He guided and He provided. He led and we followed. I watched Him perform miracles before my eyes, move mountains, open up doors, His work was endless and His love was boundless. He sustained everything in our life, including our beautiful home that He blessed us with and restored so much more. I don't know where you are in your walk or life but I share my story so you can see the power of our living God. When you obey His word, He honors you, He protects you, He blesses you. His rewards are endless and He showers you with grace and mercy. If you know the Lord is asking you to do something, give up something, walk away from someone, do it...do it today. Fear not for He will be with you, like He was and still is there for me. Our obedience unlocks the Lord's supernatural power and what an amazing journey He will take you on. Genesis 22:17-18 I will surely bless you, and I will surely multiply your offspring as the stars of heaven and as the sand that is on the seashore. And your offspring shall possess the gate of his enemies, and in your offspring shall all the nations of the earth be blessed, because you have obeyed my voice.”
