"Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name. "
Philippians 2:9

Our God reigns high above all else.  This truth will set you free. It will free you from dependence on others, addictions, worries, fears, emotional setbacks, betrayal, heart ache, disappointments..every emotion or event that could otherwise scar someone, will have no power over them when His children know His Word  and know it is true. We are to know that He is all sovereign, He is all authority and His law is what we should be following, not man's. As my husband so eloquently asked us last night during his sermon, whose law are we going to follow? Man's and the world's when all of their ways point to contradiction and disobedience according to the Word of God? Or are we to follow the living God who said, then proved, He was Messiah by His death, burial and resurrection?  His book teaches us His law, how to live, how to love, and how to respond to others.  We are called to be images of Christ and that means in all situations and in all ways. When life tries to discourage us, defeat us, destroy us...we are to exalt our Lord and Savior and rejoice in His love for us. We must fill ourselves up each and every day with the power of the Holy Spirit in order to carry out our purpose for Christ. If our part was over once we received Jesus into our hearts, than I believe He would have transcended us into heaven. But the truth is our work here on earth had just begun when we were saved by God's grace. So having said that...." Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." Deuteronomy 31:6

  1. A close friend and I just had this conversation the other day. As a single, 26 year-old woman the more I try to align myself with God's standards for me as a woman, the more I hear that my standards are too high. Sadly, I hear this from just as many women as I do men. It's very discouraging and sometimes down right hurtful. We all want to feel loved but it is a daily struggle to remember that God's love is superior the love of man. I believe the struggle comes in that with man's love you can see and touch it. And because of this I have to catch myself from giving into the law of man. It's so hard.
