As we quickly approach the 4th of July, I am reminded that most refer to it as "Independence" Day. For me, the day I celebrate my independence is the day I gave my heart to Christ. That was the day I was set free from the world and from my own flesh. Freedom! Freedom from all afflictions, freedom from all inequities, free from all sin. I guess I should call it my "Dependence Day" for that was the turning point in my life where I no longer relied on man or myself but instead I placed all my trust and reliance on God. Are you free? Today can be the day you break the chains of bondage and begin a life of true deliverance. Simply go to the Father and confess you are a sinner and repent of those sins, which means you ask Him for forgiveness of all sins. Then ask Him to "come into your heart and be your Lord and Savior" and when you do that, He sends the Holy Spirit to dwell within your heart to be help you, guide you. If you prayed that prayer, you just stepped from death into life and I welcome you in to the Kingdom of God. Happy Dependence Day!!!
Psalm 62:5-12
5 I depend on God alone; I put my hope in him. 6 He alone protects and saves me; he is my defender, and I shall never be defeated. 7 My salvation and honor depend on God; he is my strong protector; he is my shelter. 8 Trust in God at all times, my people. Tell him all your troubles, for he is our refuge. 9 Human beings are all like a puff of breath; great and small alike are worthless. Put them on the scales, and they weigh nothing; they are lighter than a mere breath. 10Don't put your trust in violence; don't hope to gain anything by robbery; even if your riches increase, don't depend on them. 11 More than once I have heard God say that power belongs to him 12 and that his love is constant. You yourself, O Lord, reward everyone according to their deeds.
Beautiful post. Doesn't it feel amazing to not have to worry like you used to? The peace that I feel having now given my life to God is incredible. I never knew it could be like this.
