Be patient, therefore, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. Behold, the farmer waits for the precious produce of the soil, being patient about it, until it gets the early and late rains. You too be patient; strengthen your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand. James 5: 7-8
Patience is definitely something every believer needs to have in order to have a long steadfast relationship with the Lord. His timing is perfect and all of His own and we cannot rush it, nor interfere with it. Often times people grow frustrated when waiting for an answered prayer or when they have been serving and are anxiously awaiting the fruit in their good work. We will bear good fruit in our walk with Jesus but it takes times. If you plant a root for an apple tree in your back yard, how quickly will the fruit be seen? Not that quickly for it takes time to root itself, be nurtured with good soil and watering and it all takes patience. I hear people grumble when they are not seeing any results to something. After watching my faithful Lord take three years to answer an "urgent" prayer of mine, I believe in patience. I never would have made it if I didn't. We are to know that God is in control and when we are serving our time, labor, monies, and effort into the Lord, we will always bear much fruit. But we must be aligned with His Word and HE must be the reason for it all. As a person who recently planted a home church, we would never still be moving ahead three months in if we were focusing on ourselves and desires. A home plant church takes time, love, patience and true hearts for God. It is not for the prideful or the one that desires instant gratification. The greatest form of evangelism is opening a home plant church and we believe in the power of God and His Word. We have watched lives transform by the hand of God so we believe in the cause and we love our humble beginnings for it pleases Him. So when we keep God centered in all we do, we will bear fruit. We will watch our prayers be answered, we will hear the voice of God and witness miracles before us..... All it takes is patience.
"And let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we shall reap if we do not grow weary." Galatians 6:9
