Malachi 3:10
10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.
God will provide. He promises when we obey His Word and allow Him to guide, He will provide. I am a firm believer in tithing 10% of all the monies that come into our household. We believe, as a household, that the Lord is to receive the first fruits, not the last or what is left over. Chances are if you wait to write the tithe check until last, something else comes up. We tally up our earnings from Sunday to Saturday and tithe that Sunday on all our income. The Lord has never let us down. During our leanest of days, He provided our daily bread from food to water. Our bills were paid and we had a roof over our head. I remember shortly after being saved to begin the practice of tithing and have always known it was a biblical command. My husband and I believe we cannot out give God. Our checkbook reflects our hearts and our obedience. What does your check book say? Do you write God your first check or your last? Do you owe Him money because you paid other things before it? Does your spouse believe in tithing or do they give you a hard time? It is the only command the Lord says in the entire Bible where we are to test Him on this. I can recall doing a favor for someone and selling something for them without accepting a commission and as much as I needed the money, I did it for them without payment. I did this about three times without any hardness in my heart. What happened shortly there after is exactly what the Lord promises in Malachi 3:10. I received two phone calls from two friends offering me all their items/goods for my store to sell and they were not asking anything in return. They were donating their entire inventory to me. When all the items arrived at my house, my husband had to fill not one but two guest bedrooms with all the boxes. I remember opening the door and seeing all these blessings and I began to cry and God's voice was so clear in saying that heaven poured out so much it was almost too much to contain. So God is real! His promises are real! Don't take the attitude you cannot afford to give, but instead you cannot afford NOT to give. Test God on this and I promise your financial situation will turn around. You will break all financial bondage out of your life and you will be delivered. It is true, God is faithful so take the tithe challenge. Do it for 30 days and watch what happens.
