No, I will not break my covenant;
I will not take back a single word I said. Psalm 89:34
I struggle with people that do not keep their word. They either make a promise or commit to something then change their mind later. I researched what the Bible would say on this action and it is not pleasing to God for we are to keep our promises to one another. We should either answer yes or no and commit to our words. Do you break plans with others often? Do you know someone that does? Does something always come up that interferes? Let's be mindful of our calendars, commitments, and let us balance out what we can physically and realistically do and what we can not do. It is not evil of you to say no to someone. I have had to. Better you be honest upfront then say yes to only have to disappoint later. I watched my husband as he committed to three churches simultaneously all the while serving in various areas. He kept his promises. He took his work for the Lord very seriously. We are extremely blessed to have a wonderful circle of servers in our small church that say what they mean and mean what they say. We praise God everyday for them for when they say they will be there, they are there. It is refreshing and it is appreciated. More importantly they are honoring God and giving glory to Him. All that we do should be to honor Him. Let us keep our promises t each other and most importantly our vows to our Almighty Father. Amen? Amen!
