Friday, October 25, 2013 " God is Light"

This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. 1 John 1:5

In families there is going to be conflict.  Now throw "faith" into the equation and things can get real dicey.  In unevenly yoked families, where some believe in Jesus Christ and live their lives for Him while others are not saved, there is going to be discord.  The Christian relative must stand up for Christ for there is no compromising one's faith for another.  We must love God more.  And often times the unbeliever does not want to hear the gospel therefore they keep their distance from the Christian.  Is it conviction? Is it guilt? Is it repulsion?  I can tell you it is hard to watch someone in my life go through this with their siblings. There is this "right below the surface" animosity that they have for their Christian sibling that is palpable. The attacks, the name calling, the judging....why are Christians always being attacked for their faith? We must hold our grace in all confrontations for we represent Christ and His ways and we cannot act out in our own flesh.  But it is very testing when others lack restraint.  The truth is the Bible tells us we are the light and there is no room for darkness when it comes to God.  We must show others how to live, how to be, how to respond to adversity.  We must stand up for Christ in all situations, no matter how uncomfortable it makes us.  Family is blood, yes, and we must pray for all of our loved ones, for heaven and hell are real and we know there are only 2 choices, there is no neutral ground in the after life despite what you heard growing up. The Bible never mentions anything on the lines of "purgatory".  So pray for all your unsaved loved ones, whether it be family, spouse, friend, neighbor. For one day they will stand before the Lord and give an account for their life. For Jesus is real and He will not be mocked. Keep fighting the good fight. The Lord is worth it all.
