Monday, October 7, 2013 "When We Can't, He Can"

I waited patiently for the Lord;    he turned to me and heard my cry. Psalm 40:1

When we can't, He can.  For with God, nothing is impossible. (Luke 1:37) We live in a world where instant gratification surrounds us and it teaches us we can have whatever we want when we want it, mostly at the point of a finger. Where is the virtue of patience?  The Lord teaches us so much in our seasons of waiting that to lack patience is not good.  I have shared before that my husband and I waited upon Him for three full years for a prayer to be answered. I knew in that time He was preparing us, preparing the situation, working out all the details and during that time I told my husband we are to embrace it. For it was all part of the life lesson and the journey. We learned to trust in Him even when all hope was lost. We learned we needed to stay in His Word and His promises for the world would only tell us we were in a no win situation. So I encourage you to wait upon Him.  Iron sharpens iron (Proverbs 27:17) so it is critical to be mindful of who is in your circle and the advice they are giving you. It needs to be aligned with His Word and at some times you may have to withdraw from others in order to keep clarity on the situation. I know it is not easy but no one ever promised a life with God would be. He never promised no pain, He promised when the pain comes, He would be there with us and for us. So trust in Him and lean not on your own, others, nor this world's idea of understanding. (Proverbs 3:5) Amen?Amen!
