Saturday, October 19, 2013 "Sowing then Reaping Your Harvest"

"Also you shall observe the Feast of the Harvest of the first fruits of your labors from what you sow in the field; also the Feast of the In gathering at the end of the year when you gather in the fruit of your labors from the field. - Exodus 23:16

There is a season for sowing and a season for reaping.  I believe we all experience frustration at times when doing the Lord's work and we don't see "results".  What I have learned over the years is there is also a time for the harvest.  We cannot expect to eat fresh vegetables out of our garden until we first prepare the ground, pull out the weeds, apply good soil, plant the seeds then water daily.  When properly tending to a garden, there will be a harvest of fresh crops.  The same applies in our work for Christ. There is preparing, weeding, applying, planting and watering. There is a time to sow and then a time to reap. So be patient with the season of sowing. When it seems as though "nothing is happening" God is doing everything. It is a beautiful time to reflect on the work and the experience of planting the seeds of faith into others whether it be through evangelizing His word or helping a new ministry get off the ground. Nothing is over night. Everything takes time. And when it is "finished", you will see the harvest and it is then time to rejoice. So keep fighting the good fight of faith and never give up. God is moving and preparing and growing in us each and every day. He is so amazing and worth the wait.
