Saturday, October 26, 2013 "The Lord Forgives"

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9

The Lord forgives.  I was reading about Jonah and how he warned the people about God's judgment.  How he learned through his own experience that the Lord would forgive a "heathen city" like Ninevah if the people were sorry for their sins.  It takes true repentance and sincerity from the person.  And it is between God and them.  The Lord knows ones hearts and when we truly repent, He forgives.  And what happens is we become so overwhelmingly grateful for what He has done that we want to share it with others.  Evangelize, spread the Word, share the gospel...however you want to paraphrase it...He expects us to tell others the work He has done in us. He did it with the woman at the well when He instructed her to go to the town and tell the others.  Jesus is real and He worthy to be praised and exalted.  It is a command to share your faith with another, to tell others your story.  We cannot control how another person receives the message but the Bible tells us no word returns void, (Isaiah 55:11) therefore we accept that there is a time for sowing and there is a time for reaping.  So go out and tell someone what the Lord has done in your life.  Be a living testimony so that others will know the Lord through you.  You might just save a life.
