Colossians 3:23
Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters,
It is said that what ever we are doing, we are doing it for the Lord. There are so many people that do not like at all what they do for a living and are pretty vocal about it. I truly can empathize for that was me for years and I have to say this scripture probably was my biggest motivator to stay and stick it out. I knew my blessings were all from Him and the employers/salary were all vessels to which He used to bless me. When my focus became cloudy towards the end of my career, I had the most trouble. I was miserable, negative, I was emotionally eating and being far too vocal at the workplace...all the things we are NOT to do. I took my eyes off of the Lord and what my purpose was and made it all about the world. I began to believe they controlled my "life" and not my Lord and Savior. As a matter of fact the Lord spoke through my husband and told me, "let no man enslave my child for the blessings I bestowed upon her" and if that was not clear enough, nothing would ever be. Be wise to Him and be mindful of our attitudes towards our employers. We work for Him, not man. Your boss is who God is simply using to bless you. Jobs are a blessing, an honor and a privilege for in this declining economy and job market, we must be grateful to Him for what we do have. Be the light in your office, be the example of God to someone that may otherwise never know Him. Be the salt in the flavorless world today. And in all you do, may you bring glory and honor to Him.
