He hears your cries. He is near. You are not alone. He is worthy of your praise and He will save you. Don't worry, keep trusting in Him. He will carry you through. He loves you. He is. And He wants you to know He is near. 

Thursday, January 30, 2014 "Because of Him"

26 Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. 27 But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. 28 God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, 29 so that no one may boast before him. 30 It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness,holiness and redemption. 31 Therefore, as it is written: “Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord. 1 Corinthians 26-31

In all things, give glory to God. Too often we get caught up in our own selves and we begin to think we are accomplishing things on our own and we forget to acknowledge the One who gave us life.  We must never boast in our own achievements as if we did it in our own strength. All perfect gifts and blessings are from God above and we must never be arrogant. We must be humble and remember that we were wretches before the Lord called us. We were nothing special then nor are we now. We are victors because of Christ. We live in hope because of Christ. We are alive because of Christ. Therefore we must boast about the Lord and give the glory to Him because we are who we are because of Him. 

Wednesday, January 29, 2014 "Stand"


My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?
    Why are you so far from saving me,
    so far from my cries of anguish? Psalm 22:1


How many times have you cried out to God to help you?  How many times do you tell at God when your prayers are not being answered or you feel like He is ignoring you?  We all grow frustrated for it is more common than we think. Being a follower of Christ is not an easy task, if it were everyone would be doing it. A life of a Christian in this world we live in today is down right painful. We are the foreigners of the land.  But that is okay for we know this life is fleeting and we pray for those that are receiving their rewards here on earth. Pray for their souls. But it can be frustrating when you feel like you do everything you are to do and you wait with expectancy and nothing happens. I have felt like that but I know God is all sovereign. If I have trusted Him up until now and He has been faithful to me, than who am I to start questioning Him now? I just get anxious and when I take my eyes off Him, I panic and drown in my own worries. But I know I am not alone. Many have cried out to God, even Jesus cried out to His Father when He was in the garden. It is natural to feel we have been forgotten about but the Bible tells us He will never leave us nor forsake us (Deuteronomy 31:6)so we must simply press on and pray ourselves through any trial we are in. We must boldly go to the throne for we know He hears our petitions. Then having done all we can possibly do, we must stand. Stand on His Word. Stand on His promises. Stand firm in our faith. 

Tuesday, January 28, 2014 "Press On"

"12 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. 13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus." Philippians 3:12-14 

We must turn away from our past and not look back.  Forget what is behind as the words of Paul warn us and press on towards the goal.  Our treasures are being stored up in Heaven, not the things of this world.  We are not citizens of the earth. Often times when we give our hearts to Christ and commit our lives to Him, we have to walk away from people that may in fact hurt our walk. The Bible does not say to only like those that love Him but it does warn us to be careful and mindful not to look to those as role models. In fact there is no gray area with Christianity. You either serve the Almighty Lord and live to please Him or you don't. Those that do not believe will not try to live a holy life so sometimes it is hard to remain friends with those after you convert.  If you go on to finish the rest of the story, the Bible tells us how to handle such matters. Stay steadfast for Christ. Look to Him for all things holy and be mindful of your circle and who you surround yourself with. Ask Him for His wisdom, revelation and truth and He will guide you through this life. Just trust Him and follow Him. 

Philippians 17-21keep your eyes on those who live as we do. 18 For, as I have often told you before and now tell you again even with tears, many live as enemies of the cross of Christ. 19 Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. Their mind is set on earthly things. 20 But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body." 

Monday, January 27, 2014 "His Righteousness"

"If you need help, ask God.  If you do not need help, thank God. "- Unknown

The Lord is so faithful to us and we are so ungrateful to Him.  So many of us take Him for granted and just expect our blessings.  No one is righteous like He is and we do not deserve anything from Him but He is so good to us, so true and merciful that we should bow down before His very presence in every situation and just fall at His feet. We are not worthy and yet we think we are.  When we need help, we should go to the Father with a humble and contrite heart and ask for His help and when we are in the palace of life, we are to go to Him with a thankful and grateful heart.  Watch your heart and keep it pure and give glory to God in all situations of life, whether we are in the pit of life or in the valley. It is very important we do not forget our Father in Heaven. 

Psalm 71:15-17 15 My mouth will tell of your righteousness, of your salvation all day long, though I know not its measure. 16 I will come and proclaim your mighty acts, O Sovereign LORD; I will proclaim your righteousness, yours alone. 17 Since my youth, O God, you have taught me, and to this day I declare your marvelous deeds.

Friday, January 24, 2014 "He is Real"

"But first seek His Kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." Matthew 6:33

When we place God before all others, our life will be in balance and proper established order.  Seeking His will first in our life, living to glorify and exalt Him and only desiring to please Him is walking on the narrow path of righteousness.  This is how we seek His Kingdom.  Do right, give the consequences to the Lord and trust in His promises on your life.  We do not need to fret or worry because He has it.  He does things in my life that leave me absolutely speechless.  Instead of answering a prayer in a straight way, He will do it in such a way that just leaves me in awe.  He is real.

Wednesday, January 22, 2014 "Self Control: A Mighty Fruit of the Spirit"

11 For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. 12 It teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, 13 while we wait for the blessed hope-the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, 14 who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good. Titus 2:11-14

Do you struggle with saying too much? Eating too much? Do you struggle with doing whatever feels right to you regardless of the consequences? Our natural impulse is to self gratify while our instinct is to "fight back" but when we act on these things, it means we are lacking self control, which is a fierce and mighty fruit of the Spirit. Proverbs 16:32 tells us , "Better a patient person than a warrior, those with self-control than those who take a city". Patience and perseverance are acts of Godliness. Scriptures tell us this leads to a holy life. When we guard our tongue and are slow to anger and slow to speak, we are exercising self control. I am one to "speak my mind" but have found as I grow in Him, it is not wise therefore I am working on listening more and speaking less. It often means I do not defend myself against someone who trespasses against me for I believe grace trumps words. We must learn to be mature with our words and actions and not always have to "have the last word" or always "have to be right". I allow the Lord to fight my battles against my enemies. So if you struggle like me with controlling yourself, meditate on 2 Peter 1:3-8 and allow His promises to penetrate your soul.

This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all
1 John 1:5

God is light.  And we as children of God need to also walk in the light. Sin lies in the darkness and if we claim to be Godly yet live in the dark, we are deceiving everyone. Therefore we are to be free of all sin. Although this is an impossible task we simply are to confess when we do fall short of God's perfect ways. 1 John 1:5-10 is our path of truth. We are to walk on the path of righteousness by staying in His Word, in His will and by staying truthful with Him. So let us turn from the darkness and live in the light for God is light.

Monday, January 20, 2014 "Do Not Worry"


Matthew 6:33-34

 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Be anxious for nothing. Pray about everything and try not to worry so much. It is probably one of the hardest things for us to learn. I find myself worrying and it becomes such a waste of time. The truth is the Lord is always there for us and if He can do the big things, He certainly can do the small things for you and for me. I am so grateful I have someone to go to with all my needs, worries and cares. Not having any living parents or a close knit family is very hard for me but I am beyond thankful to have my Lord, my Father.  So if you find yourself worrying like me about things, give it all to God...each and every detail and just rest in Him. When we truly believe He has it, we trust it and we know it.

Psalm 118:8 "It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in humans."

Guard your heart.  Set boundaries.  Do not always be so available.  Are you a people pleaser?  Do you have a hard time saying no?  The only One we need to please is the Lord.He is Who we must long to receive praise and acceptance from. Do not jump through hoops for any man.  Continue to place no limitations on the Lord while placing no expectations on man. That does not mean we are not to love one another. It simply means to keep things in proper order and balance. Place God above all others and all else will come together in a beautiful way, established by God.

Be holy like our Father.  Think, speak and act in holiness not in fleshly sin. Let us be like Him and not of this world. Let us overcome evil with His goodness and let us be diligent each day we breathe. Let us work on our spiritual selves before anything else for we are nothing without Christ.

Friday, January 17, 2014 "Pure Heart"

Create in me a pure heart, O God,

Let us become better not bitter when things happen to us. Whether it be a person that caused you pain or whether our own poor decisions caused harm, we must learn from all our of trials and take something positive from it. We can look to the negative in almost any circumstance but what does that do to glorify God? As ambassadors for Christ we are to show the world that we are victors not victims. That we believe in Him and that the battle is the Lord's therefore we are conquerors. Let us examine our hearts and make sure we are not harboring any resentment, anger, jealousy, envy, hatred or bitterness towards anything or anyone. None of these emotions are of God nor can they justified in anyway. Let us instead pray for anyone who has trespassed against us and let us ask the Lord for forgiveness for any part we ourselves have caused in the situation. It is the only way to remain holy and in His will. So let us remind ourselves that others are watching us closely to see how we react and handle sticky situations. Let us be an image of our Father. Good. Holy. Pure. Selfless.

Wednesday, January 15, 2014 "Trust. Believe. Hope."

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us. Ephesians 3:20

Trust in the Lord. The scripture tells us to "lean not on our own understanding" (Proverbs 3:5) because it does not do us any good to always know the why's and how's of God's decisions. When we simply believe in Him and all He will do in our lives, we can relax and be free in our trust. His will  for us will far exceed what we could ever do on our own and when things happen that are not according to "our plan", we need to stop asking why. We need to hold our peace and we need to stop trying to figure it all out. When I gave my life to Christ and pledged my obedience to Him, He promised He would take responsibility for my life and it has freed me. I no longer worry for He provides my daily bread and His grace is sufficient. So let go, let God. Trust. Believe. Hope. Know He has it all under control.

Tuesday, January 14, 2014 "Spiritual Strength"

What are we to do when we feel spiritually dry?  The best thing for anyone who feels they need to be filled up with the Holy Spirit is to draw themselves closer to God.  Take a step back from life's distractions and spend more time in the Word and more time praying. Rejoice in Him daily, praise and worship Him in song and exalt His name high above all else in word. Speak His Word out loud, recite prayers out loud and praise His name out loud. Speak life not death. And there is nothing wrong with simply retreating. Many attend spiritual retreats on weekends to refresh their spirits but for some it is not possible so we must learn how to do this alone with God in our own homes. Make your home your sanctuary. I believe a clutter free environment helps keep the mind calm. Make the necessary changes in your schedule if lack of time is your excuse for being out of tune with God. Do whatever it takes for He is our life line. His love is what keeps us strong and when we are walking in line with Him, all else comes together in perfect balance. And through this balance and serenity comes peace and when we are at peace, we are able to glorify God in helping others. When we feel dry in our own hearts and souls, how can we expect to be of any good to anyone else? Take time for your spiritual self. Make your personal relationship with Jesus the most important thing in your life. And if you are out of balance and feeling dry, make these necessary changes now for He is the only one Who can strengthen you.

Monday, January 13, 2014 "Self Examination is Key"

But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. James 3:17

We must look to ourselves and take full accountability before we look to blame another.  Self examination is very healthy in the process of a believer and his/her walk with Christ. Many struggle with the simple words, "I was wrong" or "I am sorry". Sadly even more find it hard to say, "Forgive me".  How are we able to heal, forgive and overcome situations if the parties involved are unwilling or unable to take responsibility for their actions?  As a believer in Christ, we are bonded by our Father in heaven therefore we are called to be brothers and sisters in Christ, meaning we are family. So when there is discord or division among st believers, often time it is at the hand of the enemy for he comes to divide and destroy. We must rebuke this, protect these unions for we are stronger together than apart. We must fellowship with one another and lift up one another. The Bible calls it, "iron sharpening iron". Let us not conform to this world. Let us stand apart and show mercy and grace unto one another, instead of holding grudges and being stubborn. Let us show love like God. "Blessed are the peacemakers".

Saturday, January 11, 2014 "His Will not Mine"


Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight.  Proverbs 3:5-6

We must be careful who we do business with, who we break bread with, and who we confide in.  My husband and I are making a very deliberate decision to make sure everything and everyone we associate with is "birthed by prayer" and not "man manipulated".  It is too often people will rush into a decision than be sorry later or rush into a relationship than live a lifetime of regret and of "what could have been's".  As a child of God we must allow His will to be done in our lives by being submissive to Him. And we must be patient and therefore wait upon Him. People say the Lord's timing is slow, others say He is preparing an amazing path. I have made so many mistakes in my past, both personally and in business, but in my present life, I have made the decision to allow the Lord to lead me and to obey His Word. I have witnessed His hand on my life and I cannot doubt for His mercy, love and grace is abounding. So I challenge you to take a step back, put the finger on the pause button and let the Lord jump ahead in line. Begin to pray about everything and listen for God's voice and when He speaks, may you listen and obey. 

Friday, January 10, 2014 "Relationship not Religion"

For whoever wants to save their life[a] will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it. Matthew 16:25 

Read the Word every day. Live a consistent and balanced life. In all things, pray. Keep the peace. Guard your tongue. Control your emotions and do not react in anger or in fear.  Encourage one another in love and in spirit.  If someone rejects you, forgive them and give them to the Lord in love. And when life gets to difficult to stand, kneel. Seek His Kingdom for all things, big and small.  Keep God first in your life. Obey His Word and do right. This is the definition of my faith. It is a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, it is not a religion. 


Thursday, January 9, 2014 "Way of Holiness"

And a highway will be there; it will be called the Way of Holiness; it will be for those who walk on that Way. The unclean will not journey on it; wicked fools will not go about on it. Isaiah 35:8

  Life can be brutal and we know this world can be trying to a believer for we are surrounded with the things of the flesh being sold as a "feel good fixes".  It is not always easy to live a holy life but when we draw our strength from God and focus on His love for us, it empowers us to stay on mission. We must walk on the way of holiness as the Word says and allow its path to guide us to all His truth, wisdom and revelation. And in doing so, we will live a life worthy of Him and it will bear much fruit as we glorify His name.

Wednesday, January 8, 2014 "Peace with Others"

Strive for peace with everyone, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord. Hebrews 12:14

We must handle ourselves with grace when another comes against us.  Whether we are falsely accused, we are a part of another's gossip or simply being treated unfairly without cause, we must seek the Lord and pray. Pray for those that trespass against you and give them to God. I will ask Him to forgive someone for they may not know what they are doing. It is easy for us to react and fight back but how greater is the testimony than when we allow the Lord to fight our battle? We must glorify God in all we do so in keeping the peace we will be blessed for "blessed are the peacemakers". (Matthew 5:9) Hold your peace by guarding your tongue.

Tuesday, January 7, 2014 "Radical Change"

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33

There is hope in Christ Jesus.  All we must do is believe. When we believe we trust in Him enough to surrender ourselves to Him and submit the rest of our life to Him. We were created to glorify Him so when we give our heart to Jesus the Holy Spirit comes and dwells within us as our compass and guide. Through this process our lives radically change, our priorities change and our desires change. You may know God and love God but if your life has not radically changed for Jesus than you  may be into religion more than a personal relationship with the Son of God. Search your heart for it is something only you and the Lord can share. No one else can heal you, save you or change you....only the Creator. I pray you seek Him more this year and dedicate your life to Him and allow Him to be the center of it all. And by doing so, your life is going to radically change.

Monday, January 6, 2014 "For Those Who Are Grieving: Hope for the Survivor"

Matthew 5:4 "Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.

Grief is a multifaceted response to loss, particularly to the loss of someone or something to which a bond was formed. How do some recover quicker from grief than others? Why do some get stuck in the mourning and suffering while others are able to heal easier? The Bible tells us we can go to the Father when we are weary and He will give us rest. The Bible also tells us the Lord is drawn to the broken hearted and as difficult as it is to lose a loved one, we are never alone for the Lord God is with us. When I lost my Mom I must say it was the hardest loss in my life. She was so special to me and we were extremely close. I was with her through some amazing times and we created some very special memories together and I was also with her through every medical matter during the later years. The thing that brings me most comfort is my Mom knew I loved her. I told her, I showed her...often. I told her I loved her every time I saw her, every time we spoke on the phone. It brings me such comfort to know she is with the Lord, her husband, her parents and siblings and she is enjoying life with Jesus. She is basking in her eternal rewards for all the treasures she stored up here on earth. And that brings me such comfort. I miss her every day and I wish she were here but I am mature enough to know that is an impossible thing. Therefore I choose to love her in my memories while I continue to live my life in the present. I know one day we will be together again. That brings me comfort. So this entry is dedicated to all who have lost. Just know the dead is in a better more peaceful place. They do not know our troubles nor do they hear our cries. If they knew Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior than they are dwelling in the most high today. So mourn for it is part of the process and as the Bible says He will one day turn our mourning into dancing. (Psalm 30:11). Until then, trust in the Lord to get you through. Self medicating won't heal you, obsessing won't heal you, other idols or people won't heal you, only the Lord Jesus Christ can heal you so turn to Him and He shall bless and comfort you. I lift you up in prayer and I am sorry for your loss.

Sunday, January 5, 2014 "Do Not Let Anyone Steal Your Joy"

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. 
John 10:10
I have said it for years and will continue to say it...Do Not Let Anyone Steal Your Joy.  The enemy comes to destroy us and he will use anyone or anything to do so.  We must not allow him to distract, divide or dissuade us.  We must fix our eyes on the Lord and all He has done for us and place each day in His hands for we cannot do this life in our own strength.  We must draw from Him every day and ask that we  be filled with the Holy Spirit in order to do God's will. We must be filled with the Holy Spirit constantly and we do that by consistent prayer. In order for us to impact the lives of others we must be strong. When we grow weak, tired and alone the enemy will strike and although we cannot prevent these things from ever happening we can certainly prepare for these things. Be on guard, arm yourself with scripture and walk a healthy strong and fruitful walk. Stay in the Word, know His will and align your life up to His will and remember the battle is the Lord's. Stand on this truth and stand on this promise.

People say they are Christians but do not represent Him in a glorifying light. It is like someone professing to be on a diet yet you witness them eating a whole pizza.  Our words must line up with our actions.  To be a child of God means a life lived different-a life set a part.  Nothing irks me more than when someone says a life lived their way is more fun because their God friends are stuffy and boring.  Or someone that has to point out a Christian's walk and tag it "hypocritical". They look for anything to discount His way.  That is why the Bible calls us "ambassadors for Christ" because we are to be living testimonies for Him. We are called to show others the light of Him and help them escape the darkness they know as sin. It is a very serious responsibility and none that should be taken lightly. We must be mindful of our words, our actions, our lifestyle, our circle, our ways. A life of conversion is a changed life. It happens spiritually. Do not allow someone to deny Christ because of something you have said or done. That would be a tragedy. Nor should you ever be discouraged if you lose a friend over your faith in Christ. He is worth it. You will never lose anything God has in store for you as you obey Him.  A life with Christ never comes up short. So walk the walk, talk the talk and trust Him in His ways, not this world's. 
 Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. 2 Corinthians 5:20

Friday, January 3, 2014 "Your Daily Walk with Him"

Allow the Lord to guide you this upcoming year by walking in His will for your life.  The way you do that is by submitting yourself to Him and being patient in every area of your life.  It is one of the hardest things to do but the most rewarding. He will bless you and your life as He sanctifies you.  Your attitude will change as you grow more confident in your faith and others will see His peace on you. It is a way to glorify others as you glorify Him. So simply trust, take your days one at a time, receive your daily bread with thanksgiving and a grateful heart. And trust Him for the rest. Happy new year.

Praise to the God of All Comfort

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ,so also our comfort abounds through Christ. 

2 Corinthians 1:3-5


So many of us miss the meaning behind our walk with Christ. So little of it has to do do with us personally. It is more of a biblical training known as sanctification so that we in turn will be strengthen and better equipped to help out our brothers or sisters in need. This scripture tells us we are to share our blessings and lessons with others. If I want to receive guidance on how to have a solid Christian marriage I am not going to seek the help of a single person. I would rather speak with couples that know the trials and issues a marriage can experience. Make sense? If I am looking for financial advice I will seek someone successful at managing their money, not someone living hand to mouth. It is a comfort to us to be able to hear someone else say, "the Lord will sustain you, He did it for me." I have been through a lot and through my trust and solid faith in Christ, I have experienced many miracles of God's goodness and when I hear someone struggling I try to comfort them and share what the Lord did for me. And He is the same yesterday today and forever (Hebrews 13:8) so what He did for me, they can know He will also do it for them. What a blessing to a blessing to another. Let us try to be more aware of others and less consumed with ourselves and what a great time in the new year to make that happen. Have a blessed day!

Wednesday, January 1, 2014 "My New Year's Prayer"

Let us ask the Father to bless us in this new year. New beginnings. New opportunities. New things. My new year prayer is that He bless my home, my church, my church family, my husband and myself with an abundance of His joy so that we will be strong for others. I pray for an abundance and a restoration of our finances so that we will be able to give to another in time of need.  I ask that the Lord enlarge our territory and divine appointments. And I pray that He continue to fill our church with those that need a special touch of Him. We love you Lord, we worship you Lord, and we give this new day to You Lord. And it is in Your name that I pray. 

Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed,
    for his compassion never fail.

They are new every morning;

    great is your faithfulness.
 I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion;
    therefore I will wait for him.” Lamentations 3:22-24
