Praise to the God of All Comfort
3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. 5 For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ,so also our comfort abounds through Christ.
2 Corinthians 1:3-5
So many of us miss the meaning behind our walk with Christ. So little of it has to do do with us personally. It is more of a biblical training known as sanctification so that we in turn will be strengthen and better equipped to help out our brothers or sisters in need. This scripture tells us we are to share our blessings and lessons with others. If I want to receive guidance on how to have a solid Christian marriage I am not going to seek the help of a single person. I would rather speak with couples that know the trials and issues a marriage can experience. Make sense? If I am looking for financial advice I will seek someone successful at managing their money, not someone living hand to mouth. It is a comfort to us to be able to hear someone else say, "the Lord will sustain you, He did it for me." I have been through a lot and through my trust and solid faith in Christ, I have experienced many miracles of God's goodness and when I hear someone struggling I try to comfort them and share what the Lord did for me. And He is the same yesterday today and forever (Hebrews 13:8) so what He did for me, they can know He will also do it for them. What a blessing to a blessing to another. Let us try to be more aware of others and less consumed with ourselves and what a great time in the new year to make that happen. Have a blessed day!
