Tuesday, December 29, 2015 "Overcome Evil with Good"

Do not allow others to put their messes on your doorstep. Sometimes people measure themselves based on other people's lives and accomplishments. While others tend to compete and compare. I say let us celebrate one another by encouraging and uplifting one another. With so much junk in the world, we are called to be the light and the salt. Let us obey the Lord and be His beacon and show others His love.  How refreshing would that be?
"Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good."  Romans 12:21

Monday, December 28, 2015 "Count It All Joy"

"Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds." James 1:2

It is natural to reflect back when the year is coming to end, and I pray that your year had more joys than sorrows. The Word teaches us to count it all joy for the "Lord  works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." (Romans 8:28)

Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing." And they divided up his clothes by casting lots. 
Luke 23:34
The behavior of others can sometimes get me down.  When they treat me or say something to me that is meant to hurt or embarrass me it saddens my heart.  What I have learned is to counter their actions with prayer.  So if someone is hurting you or angering you instead of getting upset and hurting your own walk, pray for them. The Bible says to "pray for they do not know". The wrath of God will fall upon anyone that hurts His child so you need to pray for their hearts. So let's pray together now when we ask the Lord to please forgive those that come against us and fill their hearts with your love and show them how to be. In His name we pray, Amen.

 "But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind." James 1:6
You can choose to have doubt or you can choose to have faith but you can't have both. God is irritated when we doubt and fear for we are basically saying we don't trust He can take care of our circumstances. When we place our faith in doubt we are rejecting the Lord's promises. No faith, no promises. Let us place all of our faith and trust in the One true God for He can do all things. I choose faith!

He was born in an obscure village
The child of a peasant woman
He grew up in another obscure village
Where he worked in a carpenter shop
Until he was thirty when public opinion turned against him

He never wrote a book
He never held an office
He never went to college
He never visited a big city
He never traveled more than two hundred miles
From the place where he was born
He did none of the things
Usually associated with greatness
He had no credentials but himself

He was only thirty three
His friends ran away
One of them denied him
He was turned over to his enemies
And went through the mockery of a trial
He was nailed to a cross between two thieves
While dying, his executioners gambled for his clothing
The only property he had on earth

He was laid in a borrowed grave
Through the pity of a friend

Nineteen centuries have come and gone
And today Jesus is the central figure of the human race
And the leader of mankind’s progress

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us. Ephesians 3:20

Nothing is impossible with God. There is not a problem in your life that God can not solve.  He gives us full authority and power over the enemy when we keep our eyes on Him. So stay in the Word, be strong and courageous and focus on the power of the blood, not the circumstance and you will be victorious.  Praise God!

I truly believe that nothing happens that God does not allow.  I know when I am obedient to His will I am living in His holiness therefore I am blessed.  I do not suffer from guilt or self suffering for I know my steps are ordained by Him.  When I sin and fail, He picks me up and places me back on the righteous path. I try to concentrate on Him and not dwell on life's woes.  It is not always easy but with His mercy and grace, it gets easier. #sogratefulforJesus

Be anxious for nothing but in all things pray. The Bible is clear we are to bring all of our worries and cares to the Lord for He cares for us. I know when I begin to get nervous and feel anxiety building I will softly say, "Jesus Jesus Jesus". I know He has everything in His control and He doesn't want me to worry so much but it is hard. So if you are like me and worriment is a struggle, ask Him to deliver you from it and meditate on scriptures that speak on worrying and anxiety. It always seems to help me and I pray it can help you too. Be blessed and trust in Him. 
"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God." Philippians 4:6

Tuesday, December 8, 2015 "Christ in Christmas"

We need to be sensitive to others this time of year for many are suffering.  We must be empathetic to those that do not have the Christmas spirit and keep them in our prayers.  I never knew profound loss until I lost my parents, especially my Mom.  Holidays will never be the same, especially Christmas.  But with the Lord's love in my heart I was able to overcome the grief.  He shows us how to cope without our loved ones and how to rejoice in knowing they are reunited with their loved ones and Him in heaven. The truth is we never can know the battles others are facing therefore we mustn't judge or criticize but rather love, pray and support them. 'Tis the season so let us be ambassadors for Christ and put Christ back in Christmas. 
When they saw the star, they rejoiced exceedingly with great joy. Matthew 2:10

The Lord called my Dad home ten years ago today.  I never experienced such loss before and it was and still is so profound to lose one or both of your parents.  You feel lost, alone and orphaned.  But the good news is when you are a child of God, you are never an orphan for you are His.  He healed my heart over the years, and I can truly say I can think of my Dad and smile and not cry over the loss. I was proud to be his daughter, and I know we will see each other again. #reunitedoneday

We need to stop keeping score with one another.  We so often only help those that help us or we give when given to.  "Tit for tat" they say.  The truth is the Word teaches us we are to invite those to your dinner table who cannot pay you back.  I know so many who are generous with those that are to them. Why not give because you can? Pick up someone's tab at the diner.  Pay someone's toll that is behind you in the line.  It is such a great feeling to just do a random act of kindness. Try it...you may like it.

The media shows no kindness nor mercy toward Christianity at all.  It is hard to watch people on national television quote the Bible as if they know something.  They speak about Jesus with all authority but they are never right.  It is dangerous and highly irresponsible. Please search the Word of God when you want to know the facts. Guard your mind from nonsense and ask the Lord to grant you the wisdom to know when something you hear is not right. Lies from the enemy come in all forms. Be alert!

Friday, November 6, 2015 "God is not of Confusion"

For God is not a God of disorder but of peace--as in all the congregations of the Lord's people. 
1 Corinthians 14:33

God is not an author of confusion nor chaos. When we have continuous turmoil in our lives, it is time to examine ourselves.  I learned this years ago when my workplace was constantly stressing me out. I would share with a sister in Christ and she said something so profound it remained with me since. She said, "this is happening too much, this is not a test from God nor an attack from the enemy, there is something else going on, something sinful that is creating this constant drama." Truth is she was right, I was living a sinful lifestyle at that time and it was me causing the never ending drama, no one else. So just be mindful of the signs. Be on the look out. I believe too many Christians give the enemy way too much credit. They blame him for everything...when sometimes it is something we are in fact allowing in our lives. So be on guard, strive to live a holy life that glorifies God and watch your life transform into a state of peace and calmness.

There is nothing that can replace the blood of the Lamb and its power on our life. No potion, statue, promise, god can give you what our living God can. When you say yes to Jesus, you say yes to living.  No more guilt, shame, loneliness, darkness.  He fills your heart with His Spirit to guide you and live within and fill your life with love. He is the Almighty God. He is Alive.

Monday, November 2, 2015 "Forgive and Forget?"

“Do not give dogs what is holy, and do not throw your pearls before pigs, lest they trample them underfoot and turn to attack you."  Matthew 7:6

The Lord calls us to love and forgive those that trespass against us.  We are to pray for those that hurt us. (Matthew 6:14) However the Lord speaks clearly when He instructs us not to throw what is holy to dogs. Meaning, you must forgive someone but that does not mean you have to have them in your lives. Search God for His wisdom on your relationships so you can make a clearer sound judgement on those around you and have the discernment to do what is best for you.

Dear Evangelist,
      The enemy will use people to discourage God's children from spreading the good news.  Whether it comes in the form of denial, ridicule, rejection, humiliation or plain ignorance.  Never give up on sharing the gospel with those you meet. Monday, October 26, 2015 "Breaking Bread"

We may not be able to choose who our neighbors are nor who our co-workers are.  But we can choose who we break bread with, who we spend our personal time with.  I believe in showing respect to everyone and never judging those that do not believe nor think like me.  However I am mindful of who I allow and choose to have in my inner circle.  I can tell you this, it is getting smaller every year.  I do not allow toxic people in my life nor do I have non-believers in my inner circle for I believe that iron sharpens iron.  I don't want to be unevenly yoked with my friends. I want to share God, my faith, my stories, my experiences, His Word. I do not want to censor or deny who I am just to have a friend. What does your own circle look like? Do you compromise your faith in order to fit in with certain people?

And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved. Acts 2:44-47

Keep your eyes on the one true living God.  This time of year people celebrate in good fun but do not really understand the evil undertones Halloween has.  As a child growing up I have nothing but fond memories in my heart thinking about trick or treating with my brother and sister.  Bringing home pillow cases of full size candy (yes in my days they were full size). We would sit for hours making piles of duplicates then begin to trade off with each other. But I was a child. As an adult I know too well about spirits, demons, principalities, spiritual warfare.  I cannot allow myself to be "willfully ignorant" to what I know. So just be mindful and aware this week. Give God the glory in all that you do and pray for those that do not know the truth and ask that their eyes/ears be open.

God gives us the strength to achieve everything He ordains us for.  We may not understand why He calls us to do certain things but I can promise you He will sustain it if He ordained it. Just trust Him and obey His command and Word.

Friday, October 23, 2015 "I Used to Fear Heaven"

God is amazing in how He communicates with us.  I have been sharing with my husband my fears on the after life and he prayed with me so I could find comfort.  I do not doubt where I am going nor do I question heaven...in fact I could not put into words how I was feeling until I read this and it confirmed it all.  In fact God is so good to me, He showed this to me in school the very next day after my husband prayed.

Thursday, October 22, 2015 "For Mom Roseann and Carole"

"So also you have sorrow now, but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you."

Loss of a loved one is devastating.  I don't care if you are prepared or if it is a shock, death is hard.  Today we mourn the loss of our dear Mom, Rose.  My husband's Mom,  my mother in law.  Although we never met in the flesh, I know her in spirit.  And we lost a dear friend, Carole, on this day eleven years ago...feels like yesterday.  But we rest in the truth knowing they are with our Almighty God in blissful eternity so what's to be sad about? "He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” (Rev. 21:4)  We miss them here but we are blessed to know we will see them again. #angelsinheaven

Church is more than bricks and mortar.  It is not the building that makes the church...it is the gathering of people.  An intimate group of believers that come together to worship our living God in song and Word.  This group makes up the body of Christ. That is what a true church is. 

Built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord. In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit. Ephesians 2:20-22

Love others as God first loved you.  It may not always be easy but we must love in our hearts. I sometimes struggle with anger which really comes from my pain and hurt, but I surrendered it to the Lord and he freed me. For me it is all about love. 
I want to be love, show love, act in love.
