The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. John 10:10

The enemy comes to kill, lie and destroy.  He comes when we are tired, hungry, and isolated. Prepare yourself for the attacks that are guaranteed to come. No one is exempt. What do we do to prepare? What do we do in the midst of an attack? All we need to do is be still and call upon the name of Jesus and all things that are not of God must flee. I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence. (Psalm 91:2-3)We are protected by the blood of the Lamb. Nothing can touch you or harm you when you are protected in the armor of God. Be not afraid, instead be on guard!

My husband taught me to pray for God's perfect timing in my life.  I thank Him for answering this prayer for I have witnessed such a change in things. Very powerful prayer indeed.

Monday, February 23, 2015 "God Has Me"

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9

God has me in the palm of His hand-I will not fear.  I am a child of God who has been obedient to His Word, and I know He will provide all of my needs. I will keep my eyes fixed on Him, not the world around me.  I will not crumble, I will not fall. God is with me therefore victory is mine. Thank you for your faithfulness Lord.

Sunday, February 22, 2015 "Why do we Need Church?"

Not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. Hebrews 10:25

Sunday is a wonderful way to start your week, especially when we attend church.   Church is not just a building made up of bricks and mortar but rather an assembly of people.  We are the body of Christ. Worshiping and praising the Lord with others strengthens us spiritually. Having others encourage us with their prayers and words sharpens us, prepares us for the battles of the week. We need to renew and refresh our spirit daily and consistent church attendance is part of that process. Exercising our faith is key in building our relationship with God through Christ. We cannot do it alone, we need others, we need the church.

Saturday, February 21, 2015 "Now What?"

In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents." Luke 15:10

So you have accepted Jesus into your heart and asked Him to forgive you of your sins.  Now what?  So many people go to church and hear the invitation, raise their hand and repeat the "sinner's prayer" but then return home and do nothing with their decision.  It is so important to connect with a Bible teaching church and join other believers in a Bible study or circle.  Fellowship not only strengthens our own walk but we learn from others.  I love talking with new believers who have a lot of questions about what to expect, how life will be, Who is Jesus?  The truth is our lives sometimes get harder as a Christian than when we blindly went through our sinful lives. We are held to a higher standard through word and action and eyes are always on us.  I remember years ago I was at work and I said some choice words. Someone immediately said to me, "Christians aren't supposed to curse" to which I responded and said, "you are right, I was wrong and I should not have spoken that way but I am human, like you and I will make mistakes too. I do not profess to be perfect." I remembered then what a heavy responsibility I had because I was a representative of Jesus. The point is, your life will change in every way. People, places, and things that once made you happy will no longer satisfy you. You will no longer desire them because your heart will begin to change. You will become more and more like God and less like your old self. It is an amazing transformation and a journey of deliverance, repentance,  and forgiveness. Do not be afraid but instead embrace it. This is day one of the rest of your life. Your future has now just begun. Amen!

Friday, February 20, 2015 "During the Storm"

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 2 Corinthians 12:9

My faith prepares me for the trials in life that will come.  My feet are planted on solid rock for we built a firm foundation. I will not be rocked in the storm.  When we keep our eyes on the Lord and know that whatever is happening is being allowed then we know we will overcome. God does not come to destroy His children. He does not want us to suffer but rather He wants us to grow in Him. Our victories become testimonies and through our testimonies come saved souls. I know it is hard to wait and trust during a trial but I always tell my husband that something good will come out of it. We are trusting the Lord right now in an area of our life and I know the things that God is allowing to happen, no matter how difficult they are, will have a purpose. The reveal is always a triumphant day in the life of a believer-the day it all makes sense. The why's are finally answered. Not all the time, but a lot of the times. Just hold your peace and exercise that faith you have been studying and learning about. Think victorious thoughts for you are a conqueror in Christ and victory is ours in Christ Jesus.

Tuesday, February 17, 2015 "My Prayer for a Husband"

There is nothing more appealing to me than a man on his knees in prayer. As a single Christian woman my heart's desire was to meet and marry a godly man and one day work in  a church.  My "dream" was to meet and marry a pastor of a church, because I knew I was over the secular life.  I never shared that with anyone because I also knew my destiny may have been to stay single. I would pray that if the Lord should tarry, meaning if it was His will for my life, please send me someone who was "prepared". I wasn't quite sure why I would pray that but it was the word I would always use in my prayers. I am here to bear testimony that I am about to celebrate ten years of marriage to my best friend who is just about to finish his studies on Biblical studies and church ministries. He is a God fearing man who loves the Lord more than life itself. He is the founder of our home church and is Senior Pastor. We may not have the lights and crowds of other big churches but we are living the life our hearts desired. Thank you Lord for your faithfulness and for answering all my prayers. Psalm 37:4-5

Today is a  milestone birthday for me. One that cannot be ignored. I cannot help but pause and reflect. What I see is a journey that has led me right to this moment in time. I am overwhelmed with gratitude and joy. My life is exactly where I want it to be. I am at peace and I am content. I thank you Lord for my blessings not just today but everyday. I declare this prayer on my life and I know you will bring it to pass. I trust you Lord. I love you Lord. I surrender my will to you Lord.

Wives, we must pray for our husbands and husbands you must pray for your wives. (Ephesians 5:22-23, 33)From head to toe, ask the Lord to anoint them, protect them and guide them. Ask that His face shine upon them and bring them peace and bring them joy. There is no one more qualified to pray than a spouse. The enemy comes to destroy the family, beginning at the top with the marriage union of a husband and a wife. Therefore we must prepare and guard against all attacks.

It is because of this scripture that I have blessed assurance. I know my Father hears my voice, my prayers, my wants and desires. When we choose a life in Christ and obey His word and law, we are entering into a blood covenant with Him. This covenant tells me what the Lord has He will give to me and all that I have I vow to give to Him. You are righteous and holy in His sight. Never think of yourself in any other light than the way your Father sees you. You are unique. You are special. You have value and you have purpose. You are a child of the most high.

As I begin to celebrate my birthday week, I cannot help but look back and be so grateful. Grateful for all of my blessings. My husband, family, Godly friends, my church, my health, my financial miracles, but there is no greater gift than my relationship and love for my Father. For He is more valuable than silver, more precious than diamonds and gold. I love Him, and I thank Him for giving me this life that is worth celebrating.

A life lesson for me is trying not to react to things that upset or anger me. It is my knee jerk to get emotionally upset when something does not go my way. I am learning it is all a distraction tool the enemy likes to use to simply "get me off my narrow path of righteousness". I am learning to respond in love while keeping my eyes on Christ. I know He loves me and honors me and if something or someone hurts me, I know He will turn it into something good. So I am learning to let go and trust Him in all circumstances. 
"This you know, my beloved brethren. But everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger; for the anger of man does not achieve the righteousness of God."  James 1:19-20

Tuesday, February 3,2015 "Jesus, Help Me"

In my distress I called to the LORD; I cried to my God for help. From his temple he heard my voice; my cry came before him, into his ears. Psalm 18:6

Be anxious for nothing. Stop and breathe when you feel overwhelmed. Focus your mind on Jesus and not what surrounds you. Allow the Holy Spirit to do what He came to do-guide you and protect you. Sometimes all it takes is to simply say, "Jesus help me" and He answers our cries. When I am truly in dire need I cry out "Jesus, Jesus, Jesus". He comforts me. You are not alone, He is always with you. It may not feel like it and you may not believe it, but when you draw yourself closer to Him, He draws Himself closer to you. (James 4:8) So my spiritual counsel is to stay close to our Lord and let Him work in your life. You are never alone. 

Monday, February 2, 2015 "We are the Clay"

Yet you, LORD, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand. Isaiah 64:8

The Lord is all I need. He is my Shepherd, I shall not want. (Psalm 23:1) Once upon a time it was all about me. Getting what I wanted regardless of consequence. It was a very dangerous state of mind. I had no boundaries to what I would do. But the good Lord's grace saved me and changed me from the inside, out. He changed my heart, my mindset, my soul. I was His clay. He molded me and made me who I am today... a changed daughter of the Most High. I am thankful, and I am alive because of Him. It does not matter where you are in your life, whether you are at your highest high or lowest low, He will meet you right where you are. He will do for you exactly what He did for me. All you need to do is let Him in, and let go to His will. I lift you up in prayer and pray that this is the day you say yes to Jesus. (John 3:16)
