For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay. Habbakuk 2:3
God's timing is never late and as Joyce Meyer pointed out yesterday He usually isn't early either. During those times we must wait with patience, assurance, grace, and joy. We cannot fall apart as soon as trials come. Why do we attend church? Why do we go to Bible studies? Retreats? Ministries? Why do we fellowship with other believers? Why do we read the Word of God? Why do we pray? We do it to strengthen our faith in Jesus by developing a deeper relationship with Him. We learn scriptures so we know how to pray and recite the Word of God. We do it to prepare for the battles that will come our way. It is no different than a soldier preparing for war. What good would it do if he prepared and trained and sacrificed his time from home to be "called up" and instead of using his tools, he caved and gave up? We as Christians know we will be tested and tried and we cannot lose hope and faith at the first sight of trouble. Otherwise what was it all for? You might as well read a book, go to a Sunday sports event, or sleep in on Sunday if you are NOT going to call upon the name of Jesus when the time comes. Step up! Hold on! Wait for It!
