Thursday, April 28, 2015 "Must We Forgive...and Forget?"

"And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.” Mark 11:25

When someone trespasses against us, we must forgive them as God has forgiven us. It does not mean we have to befriend our trespasser/offender moving forward. I use the term "break bread." For me, I forgive but use caution and wisdom. Especially when the offender has not repented or asked for forgiveness. In a circumstance such as that, I definitely guard my heart. The Bible instructs us to pray for our enemies, it does not say we must have them in our homes or lives. The Bible never speaks that we must forgive and forget. That is a worldly term, not biblical. Simply keep your heart pure and clean and do not allow any evil to enter in. Stay true to the Lord and you will be victorious against any and all malice. And give those people to Jesus and ask Him to reveal Himself to them, "for they do not even know what they are doing". (Luke 23:34)
