Thursday, November 26, 2015 "The Righteous and the Humble"

The Parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector

To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everyone else, Jesus told this parable: 10 “Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11 The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other people—robbers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector. 12 I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.’
13 “But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’
14 “I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.Luke 18:9-14

Wednesday, November 25, 2015 "A Set Day to Give Thanks?"

Let us give thanks for all we are grateful for. We do not need a set day to remember to do that do we?
"Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." 1 Thessalonians 5:18

Tuesday, November 24, 2015 "Idolatry"

Put God above and before all else.
"You shall have no other gods before me." Exodus 20:3

Monday, November 23, 2015 "Let's Truly Listen"

No one really knows what another person is going through. Why not take the time to ask someone if they are okay....and take the time to truly listen.
Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Romans 12:10

Sunday, November 22, 2015 "The Lord Redeems His Own"

The Lord will redeem you, just be still. Vengeance is His, not ours.  He will not allow them to get away with what they did to you. Trust in His will.
Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," says the Lord. Romans 12:19

Saturday, November 21, 2015 "Do Not Judge"

Be careful not to judge others, whether by words or in your heart.  The Lord is a very protective and He will now allow such behavior without consequence.
"Do not judge, or you too will be judged." Matthew 7:1

Friday, November 20, 2015 "Give Thanks to the Lord"

Give thanks to the Lord our God for He is worthy to be praised and honored. Let us exalt His name on high.
Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever. 1 Chronicles 16:34

Thursday, November 19, 2015 "Forgiveness"

Forgive one another like Jesus first forgave you.
"And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.” Mark 11:25

Wednesday, November 18, 2015 "Your Divine Appointment"

Never miss your moment to glorify God.  You never know who you are sharing your story with. You may very well be the only person they ever hear the gospel from.  Divine appointments are ordained by God in order to reveal Himself to His lost sheep. Never be shy or hesitant for the Spirit will guide you and give you the words. Just be obedient and allow the Lord to do the rest.

Matthew 28:16-20

Tuesday, November 17, 2015 "Not Everyone Will Like You"

We can not make others think like us, be like us, love like us. Not everyone will like us and value our opinions. Our beliefs may be mocked and our values may be challenged. But know the Lord is with you, He loves you and He will honor your obedience and faithfulness to Him.
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. John 14:27

Monday, November 16, 2015 "Words Hurt"

Guard your tongue when you are angry. Words can not be taken back once they are spoken.
Don't sin by letting anger control you. Think about it overnight and remain silent. Psalm 4:4

Sunday, November 15, 2015 "Let No Man"

Let no man enslave you to those blessings that the Lord has bestowed upon you.
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. James 1:17

Saturday, November 14, 2015 "Be Still"

The Lord will fight for you, you need only to be still. Vengeance is mine says the Lord.

"Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," says the Lord. Romans 12:19

Friday, November 13, 2015 "Try It..You May Like It"

Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 2 Corinthians 9:7

We need to stop keeping score with one another.  We so often only help those that help us or we give when given to.  "Tit for tat" they say.  The truth is the Word teaches us we are to invite those to your dinner table who cannot pay you back.  I know so many who are generous with those that are to them. Why not give because you can? Pick up someone's tab at the diner.  Pay someone's toll that is behind you in the line.  It is such a great feeling to just do a random act of kindness. Try it...you may like it.

Thursday, November 12, 2015 "Just Because"

Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:32

Be kind to one another. Be generous to one another. It is so nice when we look past ourselves to help another. Be a blessing to someone today...just because.

Wednesday, November 11, 2015 "Trust at all Times"

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
Proverbs 3:5-6

We don't always know why things happen but we know that we can place our faith and trust in God. If allowed it, there is a greater purpose than what our eyes can see at the moment. Simply trust!

Tuesday, November 10, 2015 "Until My Last Breath"

Prayer is our life line to Jesus. He comes down to where we are in our time of need therefore we should live to glorify His name until we take our last breath.

"You are my God, and I will praise you;
you are my God, and I will exalt you." Psalm 118:28

Monday, November 9, 2015 "Be Alert"

Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.
1 Peter 5:8

The media shows no kindness nor mercy toward Christianity at all.  It is hard to watch people on national television quote the Bible as if they know something.  They speak about Jesus with all authority but they are never right.  It is dangerous and highly irresponsible. Please search the Word of God when you want to know the facts. Guard your mind from nonsense and ask the Lord to grant you the wisdom to know when something you hear is not right. Lies from the enemy come in all forms. Be alert!

Sunday, November 8, 2015 "Higher Standards"

"Do not judge, or you too will be judged." Matthew 7:1

We mustn't hold anyone else up to a higher standard than we are  willing to live by.

Saturday, November 7, 2015 "Always Forgive"

Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:32

Forgiveness is essential for a believer's heart to beat.

Friday, November 6, 2015 "God is not of Confusion"

For God is not a God of disorder but of peace--as in all the congregations of the Lord's people.
1 Corinthians 14:33

God is not an author of confusion nor chaos. When we have continuous turmoil in our lives, it is time to examine ourselves.  I learned this years ago when my workplace was constantly stressing me out. I would share with a sister in Christ and she said something so profound it remained with me since. She said, "this is happening too much, this is not a test from God nor an attack from the enemy, there is something else going on, something sinful that is creating this constant drama." Truth is she was right, I was living a sinful lifestyle at that time and it was me causing the never ending drama, no one else. So just be mindful of the signs. Be on the look out. I believe too many Christians give the enemy way too much credit. They blame him for everything...when sometimes it is something we are in fact allowing in our lives. So be on guard, strive to live a holy life that glorifies God and watch your life transform into a state of peace and calmness.

Thursday, November 5, 2015 "Overwhelmed"

Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 1 Thessalonians 5:18

There is no greater love than God's. I am complete and whole again in Him.  The Lord has renewed my mind, body, heart and soul, and He has blessed my life beyond comprehension.  #overwhelmedwithgratitude

Wednesday, November 4, 2015 "His Blood"

Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying: "To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!"
Revelation 5:13
There is nothing that can replace the blood of the Lamb and its power on our life. No potion, statue, promise, god can give you what our living God can. When you say yes to Jesus, you say yes to living.  No more guilt, shame, loneliness, darkness.  He fills your heart with His Spirit to guide you and live within and fill your life with love. He is the Almighty God. He is Alive.

Monday, November 2, 2015 "Forgive and Forget?"

“Do not give dogs what is holy, and do not throw your pearls before pigs, lest they trample them underfoot and turn to attack you."  Matthew 7:6

The Lord calls us to love and forgive those that trespass against us.  We are to pray for those that hurt us. (Matthew 6:14) However the Lord speaks clearly when He instructs us not to throw what is holy to dogs. Meaning, you must forgive someone but that does not mean you have to have them in your lives. Search God for His wisdom on your relationships so you can make a clearer sound judgement on those around you and have the discernment to do what is best for you.

Sunday, November 1, 2015 "His Mercy"

But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— Ephesians 2:4-5

New month, new beginnings, new mercies. Lord grants us His mercy each and every day. I ask the Lord to bless my home with His perfect timing on our lives, His peace in our hearts and His mercy on our souls.

Saturday, October 31, 2015 "This is the Day"

Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter! Isaiah 5:20

This is the day I will celebrate the Lord and all of His glory.

Friday, October 30, 2015 "God is Love"

"So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. " 1 John 4:16

Love is kind and gentle.  Love gives us hope
and joy in our hearts. Love heals. Love is God.

Thursday, October 29, 2015 "Look to the Cross"

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28

I look to the cross when I am feeling sad or lonely.  If something is getting the best of me, I just try to remind myself that nothing happens that God does not allow for a greater purpose or reason. I know that my life is in His hands and He has it under control. #whatanicereminder
