Wednesday, March 27, 2013 "He is My Comfort"

"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted. He rescues those whose spirits are crushed." Psalm 34:18

God is close to us.  He hears our cries.  He knows our pain. Draw yourself close to Him and let the Holy Spirit comfort you.  This life will bring its challenges and anyone who has experienced a loss in their life knows the depth of its pain.  I personally do not know anything harder to overcome than the death of a loved one. The bible tell us  ... " You who are my Comforter[a] in sorrow, my heart is faint within me". Jeremiah 8:18  How beautiful is that? People suffer from divorce, depression, loneliness, disease, death...and the Lord comes to shield us and eventually heal us.  There is hope in Christ Jesus.  I know right now you may not be able to see it or even believe it and I get that, for I have been where you are. You feel as though you are stuck in a rabbit hole with no light or end in sight. And when it feels you are in your darkest hour alone, He is there! For the Lord God is with you always, right beside you. In fact He is caressing your hair, holding your hand and even carrying you through your toughest days. He is with you each and every step.  You are not alone!  Nothing in your life is of any surprise to Him and if He allowed this to happen, than He has a purpose. We all know death is inevitable and there is no reasoning as to why some people live to 100 while others die hours old. There are just some things we must leave to God and that is where your faith and trust must be exercised. You must trust God in all things. He has ordained your life and has created you for great things. You are beautiful in His sight. And for those that are reading this and know of someone hurting, reach out to them. Encourage them. Offer your hand in prayer. I have witnessed my husband take the hand of a stranger and pray in the middle of a store or restaurant or local park. Wherever the Spirit leads him.  Do not be ashamed of the power of Jesus Christ.  Help another through their time of need. Ecclesiastes 4:9-12... "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up! Again, if two lie together, they keep warm, but how can one keep warm alone? And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken. Be there for one another.  Let no man withstand his pain alone. And those right now that are suffering and feel no relief....the Lord is with you, He will not leave your side even when you feel alone, He is there. And when you wake up tomorrow, He is there....call unto Him for the bible tells us he will give rest to all who are weary. Rest in Him. Rest in His promise.
